Product Description

No Rinse Delicate Wash. Cleans & softens all fine washables with amazing results and no rinsing. Concentrate contains fiber restoring lanolin & moth inhibiting lavender oil. 20 hand washes.

From the manufacturer

Woman turn on sink faucet.

Why is Eucalan no-rinse?

The formula doesn't require that it be rinsed. With your first soak in Eucalan, you should likely see the water in the wash basin turn a bit brown. The soap releases dirt into the wash basin, & though the clothing absorbs a little of the soap, it is beneficial. Lanolin fortifies & conditions clothing fibres - particularly great for woolens & knits, but can be used on most anything.

Scented with only pure essential oils, some of them contain long-term cleaning properties that are intended to remain in the clothing to further benefit from; Think swim suits & lingerie that lie close to the skin, or blankets & knitted sweaters that get packed away for the cold months.

Eucalan’s no-rinse formula is also convenient – great for travel when you’re not likely to have a washing machine, or are seeking to conserve water.

If you feel the urge to rinse, it is safe to do so. The soap has done its job of cleaning, though you will lose the lasting effects of the lanolin & essential oils.

Lavender Essential Oil

The essential oil of lavender is known for both natural fibre protection and cleaning properties, making this a versatile wash for all fibres. Lavender’s sweet soothing scent is ideal for baby items like blankets, stuffed animals, clothing, and wool diaper covers.

Lavender Delicate Wash

Eucalan's Most Versatile Scent

As Eucalan's most versatile scent, use it on all your delicates like baby items, sweaters, lingerie, hosiery, comforters, linens, bedding, down jackets, and bathing suits.

Does one scent clean better than the other?

Each scent of Eucalan launders the same, releasing dirt from the item and into the water. However, certain essential oils have different lasting benefits. Grapefruit and Lavender have unique cleaning characteristics. Lavender and Eucalyptus have properties best used on woolens and items that get stored away periodically.

Our Favourite Items to Wash in Eucalan's Lavender

Safe for Your Most Precious Possessions

Bedding

From handmade quilts to linen duvets, Eucalan is safe to launder all types of bedding. The soothing scent of lavender is a wonderful choice for a relaxing night of sleep in your fresh bedding.

Baby Items

Eucalan is a delicately mild soap, gentle enough to be the primary detergent used to care for all your babies’ favourite things. Eucalan is safe to use on baby clothing, stuffed animals, wool diaper covers, blankies, sheepskins, and even nursing bras. Eucalan's Lavender is our favourite wash for all things baby related because of its soothing and relaxing properties.

Cashmere/ Woolens

For woolens, no rinse is an important concept. We tend to suggest Eucalan's Lavender or Eucalyptus for the long-term, protective properties of the essential oils. As woolens tend to be packed away for the warmer seasons, treating them in Eucalan will help preserve the longevity of the fibres.

Seems to Work!

Seems to Work!
I bought the small bottle of lavender scented and while some reviews seem shocked by the size—don’t be fooled! This bottle has already allowed me to wash 7 articles of clothing and it’s not even a quarter of the way gone.I love the scent and as you can see in the pic—I’ve been able to pulled what seems like set in stains, right out! I bought a vintage coat and soaked it for 15 minutes and the water was even darker. (I just forget to snap a pic). I think this is a great value!

I recently bought this to use for my cresta wool leggings and after I washed them they were so soft and smelled so amazing. I decided to try it on my flannel shirts because washing them in regular detergent always makes them feel rough to the touch. I was absolutely thrilled at how super soft the shirts felt after washing them. I have also used it on cashmere and sherpa fleece. It works great on everything. I will never use regular laundry detergent for any of those items again.

I use either the rinse cycle or the delicate cycle on my front load washer with a tsp or less of the product depending on how many and what type of items I'm washing, and it leaves everything feeling, looking and smelling amazing. I love it.

Update 3/30/24 - I now use this exclusively on all of my laundry. I just love the smell so much and I love how nice it makes all my clothes feel. I'm totally addicted to this stuff. A little goes such a long way and the beautiful scent lingers on my clothes and it's just lovely.

As a hand knitter, blocking is an important technique in getting your hand knitted items into a desired shape by redistributing the stitches, without stretching it out or damaging the fibers. Plain water can be used for this purpose but to keep the natural fibers soft and to preserve the natural lanolin oils found in theses fibers, a wool wash is more efficient.
I have purchased and used this item, along with
The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo, Cedar, 16 fl. oz. – 32 loads  and  Soakwash Liquid Laundry Wash, 12-Ounce, Scentless . Here is my comparison of all three items:

1. Eucalan Delicate Wash Wrapture – Jasmine
This is a no rinse wash that contains a touch of lanolin to naturally condition fibers. I used this wash on several Lopapeysas that I hand knitted with scratchy Icelandic wool. I simply poured about 2 capfuls per gallon of cold water and let the sweater sit overnight. I squeezed it out and laid flat to dry (on a blocking mat) the next day (shaping if necessary).
This wash was perfect in softening the wool and gave it a light jasmine scent. Grade A+

2. The Laundress New York Wool and Cashmere Shampoo – Cedar
This is a highly concentrated wool and cashmere shampoo that contains lanolin and cedar extracts. I also used this wash on hand knitted Lopapeysas and a fisherman’s sweater for my husband. I did the same process using about 2 capfuls per gallon of cold water and let the sweater sit overnight, however, this shampoo (it’s sudsy and soapy), requires rinsing. I rinsed with cold water until it ran clear then squeezed it out and laid flat to dry (on a blocking mat) the next day (shaping if necessary).
I also recommend this shampoo for washing (cleaning) wool items that have been soiled or sweaty. It works wonderfully on my husband and children’s ski wool items and base layers.
This wash was perfect in softening the wool and giving it a lovely cedar “woodsy” smell that is perfect for the “manly” man yet still subtle and feminine for the “girly” girl! Grade A+

3. Soak Wash for Hand Knits – Scentless
This is a gentle no rinse formula that’s phosphate free and perfect for people with sensitive skin or sensitive noses! I use this for all my hand knitted baby and children’s items (form socks and hats to sweaters and blankets) and hand knitted items I give as gifts. I think this one would be perfect for other delicate items such as lingerie.
I follow the same method, as with the other washes (soak, squeeze and rinse, lay flat to dry).
This wash was perfect in providing the softness without the fragrance! Grade A+

Note
I cannot comment on how any of these washes/shampoos preform on machine washed items as I’ve only done them by hand.
None of my items have shrunk using any of the above washes/shampoos.

I highly recommend any of the above three for your wool, cashmere, or natural fiber items!

We’ve started to really be very careful about how our laundry is done so that we can take good care of our clothes and delicates. This stuff is great. No excessive foaming/residue, not heavily scented, does its job. We love it. Will continue to keep coming back for more

I purchased this because it was recommended on several knitting and crocheting sites as being good for wet blocking wool. I used a very small amount in a basin of tepid water, and it worked well. The scent is pleasant (I purchased the lavender), but VERY faint. I'm glad I bought the larger size bottle. It's a much better value, and I intend to use it to wash my woolens. I particularly like that it's very gentle and doesn't need to be rinsed.

This detergent is so good and very easy to use. Simply measure 5ml in a spoon, and mix by running a faucet over it into a container with a gallon of cool water. Dunk your clothes in, let it sit for several minutes, do some agitation if necessary (be careful, this can cause pilling/felting if you’re too rough or temperature shock the wool) then drain and air dry. Pre-soak and pre-wash any heavily soiled parts if necessary. Easy peasy, and my wool has never been softer or more comfortable.

I haven’t used this yet. Just got it today. I was surprised at the size. It’s very small. Like a travel size bottle. For handwash it said to use 5 ml in a gallon of water. The bottle has 100 ml. It has no perfume scent which is my preference. I will keep this and see how long it lasts me.

... and don't worry about the lanolin. I do a lot of hand washing (both because I've moved away from fast fashion and have more cotton/linen/wool to care for and also for exercising my hands because I type all day), and Eucalan is the winner for good suds, great scent, and cleansing power. A couple of other reviews have mentioned avoiding the lanolin in Eucalan for manmade fibers, and I've had no problem with it (zero buildup, zero dirt attraction); I appreciate the fact that the lanolin may aid in working an area and wringing out the clothes. Even more than the reliable performance of the wash is its smell, which is clean but not overpowering and fades to almost nothing as the fabric dries. I get so sick of hand wash that smells like lavender or that "sunny breeze tickling puppies and kitties in Cancun" nonsense they sell in stores; it's atrocious. This is a fabulous change.
