Pros- Light weight, easily portable, very accurate, very easy to operate, very user friendly, wide range of uses from tactical to wildlife observation to home and hardware work, rechargeable off a basic micro usb port so you can hook it up to a portable solar rig and charge it while you camp.
Cons- distance ( 100 yards is pushing it for man sized objects but vehicles and large game are noticeable), lack of mounting options- More of a personal gripe really, I'd pay more if it came with atleast a head set mount or maybe had a rail mount of some kind.
For the price you honestly can't beat it.Bottom line- Yes I would recommend this to anyone looking for thermal who doesn't have $1000+ to shell out at the moment.
Now regarding this particular product: works well, day and night, really light and small, plenty of color palette to ensure thermal acquisition in different environments. Overall, this a relatively inexpensive when you consider the technology.
IF you're looking at this specifically for the reasons I mentioned at the beginning of the review and of you have enough ammo, food, water...AND you want to be able to have the capacity to identify if something is out there...AND you're not going to break the bank by purchasing it... Yes!, go ahead and have it. If not, focus on the above.
I imagine this would be very helpful recovering deer after dark. A few years ago my Brother-in-Law shot a buck that we looked for in the dark for several hours. I went out with the dogs in the morning and found it about 10 feet off the trail we were on. We must have walked past it 5 times in the dark and never saw it piled up in the brush. The FLIR would have spotted it instantly.
In the dark I can usually see rabbits out to about 40 yards and I've picked up deer at almost 200 yards. Watch the video. It's even sensitive enough to see my dogs footprints in the grass where they walked or their outline where they were laying. I've used it around the house and found two spots that don't have insulation in the attic.
The scope is easy to use and the battery life is good. The internal clock does not keep good time and drifts a few minutes a week. As the scope is adjusting to temperature it pauses once in a while to "calibrate" which can be annoying when you are following something that is moving.
This does exactly what I need it to do. It shows me warm bodied objects in the dark. It also works well in the day time. I even used it to find a bad solder joint in a project I built. Nice scope at a reasonable price. Looking forward to taking it deer hunting this season.

The battery in this is pretty poor regarding holding a charge for any reasonable duration. It charges sort of slowly too. Take a couple portable power bank/chargers with you camping and you'll be all set. Image quality is very good as are the features. The features are user-friendly and intuitive. I've been able to see all sorts of things (critters, pets, people...etc) lurking about in the dark. I've even seen footprints left on the beach at night and on my balcony (if you look quick enough). It has very good range for its size. I saw a bobcat (or a really, really big house cat) watching me as it hunched down in some tall weeds approx. 40 ft away. I would buy it again.

A good quality scope at a lower price
molto soddisfatto
