Straps are VERY PROBLEMATIC, but good plastic component.
2 Stars
Straps are VERY PROBLEMATIC, but good plastic component.
The plastic bracing component is invaluable (the only reason it was given two stars); however, the straps leave MUCH to be desired.ORIGINAL DESIGN: Since the top and bottom straps aren’t elastic: the brace easily slides, and to get it tight enough so it doesn’t move resulted in more tingling throughout my fingers. The strap that is attached to the padding, located in the middle, does make me wonder how much the creators of the brace are aware of the underlying issues for those of us dealing with this issue. To secure this strap, one must wrap it around the elbow, which essentially compresses the elbow... which is what we’re all trying to avoid. The picture is misleading in the fact that the middle strap does not easily go around the upper arm because it is sewn at the middle of the padding. Lastly, as a shorter woman, the S/M brace rides up into my armpit, but I’ll trade that discomfort for the benefits I received once I modified the brace.MODIFIED VERSION: Since the pain in my elbow is relentless, I chose to modify my purchase as I didn’t want to deal with a restocking fee, even though it was poorly designed. As a result, I made the following modifications, and can now wear the brace throughout the day (I find sleeping with it impossible), and have begun to receive relief. Here’s what I did:• purchase $12.99 elastic wrist wraps from Amazon, and do the remaining while you wait• removed the scratchy Velcro parts from both top and bottom strap• cut off both top and bottom straps, leaving about 1.5 in of the strap at each metal bolt• use the scratchy Velcro to cover each bolt• cut off the middle strap attached to the padding• when the elastic wrist wraps arrive, attach them to brace using the scratchy VelcroBy making this modification, the brace remained more securely attached to my arm, allowed my muscles to flex as they’re supposed to, and in essence made it usable. My doctor had no objection to the modifications I made, but I am NOT a medical professional so don’t just take my word for it.

My wife was diagnosed with mild cubital tunnel (tingling and numbness in ring/little finger) a few months ago and started to wear this brace while sleeping. She is very petite and the small/medium size was a little large and the lower strap couldn't be tightened all the way it was meant to be and had to be angled to secure. Besides the strap, which adding some extra velcro fixed, it worked very well and the numbness and her elbow pain has stopped entirely.

I was recently diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome and was told I needed to brace my arm at night to keep it from bending. After buying this one, I found it is very large and too bulky. The angle is extremely awkward, uncomfortable, and difficult to wear. The upper band, where many people may have a larger arm, the Velcro barely reaches around causing you to have to pull it too tight and cause discomfort. I couldn't sleep with it even one night. I had to take it off within 30 minutes of putting it on due to the extreme discomfort. Even disregarding the Velcro discomfort on the upper arm, the entire device (maybe it was the angle) was making things worse (more tingling in the pinky than without wearing it) than relieving the symptoms. I found either  Premium Adult Elbow Immobilizer Stabilizer Support Brace/Splint - Small/Medium  or just a regular Ace bandage (the wide 6" one) worked much better than this particular brace, not to mention the price.

I really like this brace. Its comfortable, very durable and simple to adjust one handed. For this alone its worth the price!

Two areas I'd like to comment on-

Fit. The height of the models doesn't help determine the length of my arm for sizing. From my inner elbow, to my wrist bone is 8 inches. There is no way to determine which size, so I picked medium. If you have fatter arms than the models, (and I do) understand that the velcro strap at the top may not be long enough. Mine fits, but not by much. Perhaps including the strap length in the description and offering an extender? Also the upper strap (being velcro) seems to snag on my shirt. Just a heads up.

The other downfall is-like most every brace, It slides down the arm. Granted I could tighten the straps, but then the pressure on the arm gets to be too uncomfortable, and it still moves. I keep having to slide it back up.

I'm thinking a cloth shoulder type of harness to keep it at the correct level. Similar to a posture brace, with a elastic strap connected to the brace front and back side. Something is needed to keep the elbow brace, from becoming a wrist brace. :)

After 3 months of pain in my elbow getting worse and worse every day, this device gave me instant comfort.
The angle is just right to hold your arm where it doesn't hurt the nerve.

I wanted to address some of the other negative reviews.
I think some of the strap complaints are for an older version, or they may be wearing it wrong.
I'm an average 5' 11" guy who does not work out and the straps have tons of slack.
If your arms are large you can probably just buy more velcro.

For those that say this is uncomfortable, I ask which is worse, the pain or the brace?
Seriously, it's not meant to be comfortable, it's meant to keep your arm rigid so you can heal.
Keeping your arm in the same position all the time won't be comfortable but it will be effective.

As for poor range of motion, it's not bad.
I can drive, use my computer, and perform most activities with it on.
I only take it off to eat and that gives me a chance to stretch my arm a bit.

As for sleep, it's only hard when you're falling asleep, especially if you sleep on your right side.
And even then it's not that hard.
Once your out, it's fine.

I absolutely love this thing and even though I've only worn it for 2 days I've already noticed an improvement.

I've had this brace for several months now. This brace is good quality and is effective in reducing symptoms from cubital tunnel syndrome. I haven't had a problem getting used to sleeping with it. However, I ordered the small and it is way too big! When I tighten the straps all the way, it is still too loose to be of any use. I've had to jerry-rig it to fit me tightly enough. I would not recommend spending so much money on this if you are an average sized woman or small man.

4.0 out of 5 stars Très bon produit mais pas pour tous
Reviewed in Canada on January 6, 2023
