This little grinder is intuitive and easy to operate. Take off the clear top, add the seeds, pop the top on, careful to align the button on the lid with the base, press the lid/button and it takes off! Within a very few seconds I have finely ground flax.
I was pleased that the noise level wasn't bad at all and was actually much less than I expected. However, coffee beans may be louder to grind. The actual sound of the machine is a light whirring sound.
Capacity is very adequate for my needs. I only grind 1 to 2 tablespoons of flax seeds at a time. The grinding does make them fluffy and take up more space, but I still have plenty of room. The idea is to only grind only as much as is immediately needed anyway, so that it is as fresh as possible.
I'm a newbie with a grinder so I'm not sure how much cleaning should be done. The only action I've taken toward semi cleaning it is to wipe it out a little with a paper towel. I don't see where the base comes apart for cleaning the blade and little bowl inside, but I think these are meant to be dedicated pretty much to grinding one thing anyway, and wiping out the residue with a paper towel was effective.
This definitely met my needs and I would recommend this to others.
It is indeed easy to use. I didn't have to look at the directions much to figure out how it works. But some experimentation might be needed for a person to figure out how finely they want their coffee grinded.
I've only had it for a few weeks, so I can't comment on if it is built to last. But it was cheap, and you get what you pay for, so I don't expect it to work forever. It suits my needs for the time being, which is good enough.
The only downsides is that the cord doesn't want to stay wrapped around the bottom, so I've given up on trying to make it do that. And it only grinds a small amount of coffee. I have a 6 cup coffeemaker, and it's just enough to make a pot. But you would probably have to grind more than one batch for a larger coffeemaker. And it would take a long time to grind all of the beans in a 12 ounce bag at once. I don't have the patience for that, so I just grind what I need to make a pot.
The noise it makes doesn't bother me, but I am not an early riser, so I don't have to worry about waking other people up in my household while making coffee. It could be a nuisance for people who live in shared living spaces that are small though. It only takes me a few minutes to grind the amount I need, so the noise doesn't last for too long.
I am happy with the product, and the coffee I've grinded in it tastes really good. But I will splurge on artisanal brands, so the fact that the beans are supposed to be high quality, affects the taste as well. It does seem a bit fresher than coffee that is purchased already ground, but I don't think it is a huge difference.
So yeah, I recommend this product to other novices, and people who aren't too particular about how their coffee is made. It's not the kind of thing a barista would like, especially since it doesn't have different options for how you can grind your coffee. You just hold the lid down until it looks grinded enough, or at least that's what I do. I haven't given up on buying coffee that is already ground, but it is nice to have the option to buy whole bean if I feel like it.
I got a few small glass jars and have been grinding a week worth of chia seeds and any other spices that I might need, saving myself a lot of time.
Judging from comments made by other people in my cooking group, not all coffee grinders work well for spices, but I can definitely attest to the fact that this one does. I haven’t actually tried it for grinding coffee beans yet, but I know I can’t keep it away from my family forever.
It’s a great little grinder, works well for everything. I’ve tried so far and is very easy to clean.
Good quality. Sturdy. I’ll never buy a cheap plastic grinder again.
Works great with, chia, cloves, and coffee beans.
Pleased with this product.

ABOLUTE KAUFEMPFEHLUNG !!!! Preis/Leistung TOP.
