This Chinese cassia bark is true to its name, and came fresh. It smells fantastic.
I used it as an adjunct for beer I am fermenting (which turned out fantastic!). While it worked well for me in the beer, I'm not sure how it works in other food recipes, but I'd assume it would be just fine.
Should I need more cassia bark in the future, this is certainly the store I'd be ordering from. I looked all over locally with no luck, and this was the only product that looked like it could be worth it on Amazon.
This was a different, than I expected. The cinnamon bark was huge. I got it to make Japanese beefstew. For the money, pretty good price especially for the size. The smell is nice, couldn't taste the cinnamon since it was mixed with a different spice.
Not available in local stores and difficult to find on the web as suppliers seem to think Chinese Cassia is the same as Cinnamon, It's not, although it is the same family it tastes more pungent and less sweet than the standard cinnamon you can find in the supermarkets. To cook authentic BIR meals i find its important to use the correct ingredients to obtain the true taste of British/Indian cooking !
