Machine is awesome
I'd give machine itself five stars, but my particular purchase was terrible. Machine arrived cracked, powder coating chipping, needle plate was jammed and all scratched up close to the sew area, needle position was so far off I couldn't even test it. Plate screws looked stripped already. There was a sewn test strip of vinyl under the foot but I'm guessing it may have just been placed there. I realize these originally ship from China and are heavy so they may be scratched, but the outside packaging was fine and this machine looked like it had been through a lot of misery. The seller I purchased from is no longer listed so maybe you'd have better luck. If I were you I'd made sure my purchase is prime/free return. I'm so glad I did. If I had to pay to return this it would have been awful. But then again maybe a different seller would have sent a machine in usable condition.I did not receive a case although the case is listed as part of the purchase. After returning this unusable machine, I was going to reorder one from another seller here, so I asked the seller in advance whether or not the machine (in this particular listing) will come with a case. The seller's response was, and I quote, "We sell the machine with and without the case." What?! Well I ended up ordering one from a reputable sewing store. So if you order this machine here you roll the dice. I believe if the machine is offered at around $450 you will probably not get a case. If it's offered around $500+, more likely it will come with a case. The case is pretty important unless you want to buy or make a custom table top.The machine itself is awesome and versatile. Just make sure you order from the right source.
