変に飾った文や冗長な言い回しなどはないので、変に身構えずに読むことができました。

　キノとしゃべる二輪車エルメスが旅をして色々な国を訪ねる物語の２冊目です。
　色々な文化程度の、それぞれの風習がある城壁に囲まれた国々が点在する世界。
　この巻では、
　キノが親と子の言い争いに巻き込まれる「過保護」や、
　旅人所有のモトラドを触ろうとした国民を、旅人がパースエイダーで撃ったことについて各新聞が取り上げる「自由報道の国」、
　キノが、一人の画家が描いた戦車の絵が流行している国を訪れる「絵の話」
　本を読み感想を言い合うのに情熱を傾ける国「本の国」などが、載っています。
　とくに「人を喰った話」のえげつない急展開と、「魔法使いの国」のキノのとぼけた様子が面白かったです。
　目次に載っていませんが「続・絵の話」の切ない幕切れもとても面白いです。
　口絵の「狙撃兵の話」はキノの師匠と弟子の若い頃のお話。初登場です。
　どのお話も、とても面白い本でした。

今回も良い話ばかりで好きです。
これぐらい話がいろいろあると自分的には満足です。
人を喰った話、優しい国、続・絵の話が自分的には大好きです。
特に優しい国は良い話だった。

キノという少女とバイクのモトラドの旅を描く作品の２作目。
この巻でもいろいろな国のお話しやサイドストーリーが
書かれていますが、一番のオススメは「優しい国」です。
以前この国を訪問した旅人には良い印象、
むしろ悪い印象を与えていた。その国にキノは向かうことにしました。
キノはひとつの国に滞在する期間を三日間と決めていますが、
果たして実際はどういう国なのか？
読んで確かめてください。感動します。
あと、時雨沢氏のあとがきは本当に面白いです。

「キノの旅」という小説を読む前に、どこかで「旅人キノとモトラドのエルメスの切ない旅を描いた作品」という宣伝を聞いたけど、はっきり言ってピンと来なかったという人が多いと思います。
そこで、この作品をもう少しわかりやすく紹介します。
まず、モトラドとはバイクのこと。つまり、エルメスは、キノの乗るバイクのことを言っています。このバイクは何としゃべることができるバイクで、非常に天然な性格をしております。
そして、それに突っ込みを入れるのが旅人のキノというわけです。もちろん突っ込みを入れるだけではなく、非常に強いです。銃を使うことについては右に出る人はいないのではないでしょうか。
というわけで、その個性的なバイクと旅人キノがいろんな国を回って旅をして行くと!いうのが「キノの旅」という作品なのです。
