Bet You (Franklin U Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 2,848 ratings

Spencer
Whose brilliant idea was it to build university housing next to one of Franklin U’s most notorious party frats?

I’m a real student—the kind who actually came to college to
learn, not some dumb frat bro who sees Franklin U as a four-year challenge to consume the most booze and throw out the best pick-up line.

Their all-hours lifestyle is driving me crazy. Not to mention, the jerks keep taking my assigned parking spot.

But the worst offender might be Cory Ingram. Sure, he has a smile that could melt a polar ice cap, but no way will I ever be one of his minions. I’m pretty sure I made that clear when I blew my top at him. So I have no idea why he’s suddenly everywhere around me, turning on the charm like I might actually fall for it.

Nope. Not gonna happen.

Cory
From the first day I set foot on Franklin U’s campus, everything has been golden. I have a ton of friends, endless parties to be the life of, and whoever I want in my bed on any given night. Sure, I’m a shameless party boy, but I’m not a jerk. Ask anyone. Seriously.

Even the crotchety old groundskeeper waves and smiles at me when I pass.

Then there’s Spencer Crowe. I’ve never seen a guy’s face get so red over a parking spot. Even when I try to make it right, he proceeds to give me the tongue-lashing of a lifetime—which is about the moment I notice that, in addition to being irrationally irate, he’s also crazy hot.

My friends think I’ve finally met the one person I can’t seduce…

Bet you I can.

Neve Wilder reads promiscuously, across multiple genres, but her favorite stories always contain an element of romance. Incidentally, this is also what she likes to write. Slow-burners with delicious tension? Yes. Whiplash-inducing page-turners, also yes. And every flavor in between.

She believes that love conquers all. Except the heat index in July. Nothing can conquer that bastard.

A fun Uni romance with low angst and high heat
4 Stars
A fun Uni romance with low angst and high heat
Definitely an enjoyable read back in the Franklin U universe! 3.5 stars for this one!The tropes in this are:- the popular guy who's only hooking up in college and is popular with everybody finally finds his match who doesn't immediately fall for his charms- betting on him charming him anywaySpencer and Cory's story fits perfectly in the vibes of this university series. It has frat boys, a nerdy life sciences student, infinite banter and sweet gestures.Spencer and Cory met when Cory parks his jeep in Spencer's parking space and their little feud kicks off with a bang. I loved their constant back and forth, but the stints and the little revanges were a bit cruel for me. Also their initial interactions were a bit too much and sometimes the consent was a bit dubious when it came to jokes and pastering. In a few words I didn't feel like both of them reall enjoyed it even when the author said they were. But apart from their dyanmic being not something I really like there were parts I did enjoy. Like Darby and Royer, the cosplay thing and Cory's eventual little gestures. The heat factor is a solid 5/5 in this one so prepare for that. I skipped some parts because I prefer lower heat stories. All in all, it was a fun story with low angst some fun tropes and two nice main characters!

This book brought it all: the banter, the steam 🔥 (oh the steam!), and the heart. Cory was utterly charming and an incorrigible flirt. It was so endearing to see him do all he could to win over Spencer. Dear stubborn, peeping Spencer … he didn’t stand a chance, but boy did he try to resist!

Did the bet come to bite Cory in the butt?! Yes. But we knew it would. However, the build up had sucked me in and I was so invested in these two that by the time it happened I almost forgot the bet had even been made! The resolution couldn’t have been more perfect: sweet, comical, and also hot. (You know I just had to look up that video and it made the final scene that much more priceless!)

Neve Wilder definitely knows how to write some super spicy, but really sweet romance and I’m here for all of it!!

I always look forward to anything Neve Wilder writes. I really enjoy everything from her, her writing style, how she describes & delivers the story & of course, the tiny tender moments❤️

Cory & Spencer's story gives off the 90's rom-com vibe with the whole "I bet" plot. Also, it reminded me of Eric & Nate in "Watch Me"; it definitely had watch me scene going there😅I'll give you a warning there is voyeurism & exhibitionism that cut me off guard...I'll have to admit it felt weird at the beginning but...I recovered realllll quick, brushed it off, and moved on lol😅. This is the first book I read in this series, so as usual, I never read anything in order, and I can confirm it definitely can be read as a standalone.

This one was a good read, and I recommended it. It was a sweet, quick read with no angst, and of course, you will get Neve Wilder signature steamy scenes cuz it won't be her book without them😂 her boys are wild, and I can confirm... up until now, only Logan & Josh who hasn't done it in the library.

*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Cory rich intitled and part of one of the most annoying Frat Houses and write next to Spencer's new house the parties the annoying Frat guys who steel his parking spot he's had enough and when Cory parks in his spot again he let's him know he's amune to his charm and his revolving door of hookup's. Cory doesn't get what the big deal is but know amount of flirting is getting Spencer to like him and now his Frat brother's have made a bet make Spencer his next conquest until it backfires and he starts to like Spencer and when the truth comes out Spencer wants nothing to do with Cory but Cory has decided that Spencer is his person and he's not going to give up on them so he's willing to put on the ultimate performance to when Spencer back. This was a funny read with to snarky guys with some very dirty minds.

Rating: 3🌈

Bet You is among 8 novels written by different authors in the Franklin U series and each is a standalone featuring a different couple.

Bet You by Neve Wilder has a number of well known themes running through it. There’s opposites attract, the rich easygoing frat boy versus the stressed, overworked middle class student with money flow issues, and a somewhat jock / science nerd aspect as well. But the biggest trope is embedded in the title itself. Bet You.

Yes, that a bet by the rich frat boy that he can make the overworked poorer science student “like, date, fall in love “ with him, whatever the bet is here. There’s been many variations on this theme, but this is the basis for the storyline.

And the largest issue with it is that the reader always knows how the plot will play out regardless of author or book. It always goes the same way.

MC Character makes a bet with his friends. Figures out a way to get the 2nd MC to go out with him. The relationship progresses. They fall into (like, love) then MC2 finds out about the bet. He , naturally feels betrayed, they break up. Big drama. Then MC 1 redeems himself. Reunion and HEA.

It’s every story. The MC1 never tells MC2 about the bet.

If there’s a book out there where that happens, shoot me the title, pls.

So Wilder is trying to make a tired trope feel fresh, a tough job. And on top of that it starts with the fact that overworked, stressed Spencer Crowe’s designated parking spot (paid for) is routinely taken by the fraternity brothers next door. The loud, partying, 24/7 obnoxious fraternity. Which is already a huge problem when the scientists next door want to study.

And when he complains to the person he catches in his spot this time , the rich Cory Ingram, the complaints are immediately treated as insignificant. When Spencer’s reaction to being treated as a nonentity is rage, Cory and his frat brothers instincts lean towards bullying, his friends admitting that they park there often.

None of this makes me want to connect with anyone other then Spencer. Especially Cory’s tactics that follow the bet.

Yes he eventually becomes a nice person but for me, that early personality and events cut him and his frat off from engaging in this story.

Basically, I just wanted to tell Spencer to have him , and all others who park there towed , and call it quits.

It would have felt satisfying, however there wouldn’t have been any romance.

Things here just kept annoying me. What year is this that frats party 24/7 without complaints? Because it doesn’t happen here. In fact those chapters get closed down.

Bullying, non stop partying. Infantile actions. I’m sure they still are ongoing on campus’s elsewhere. I guess I no longer have the patience to read about them.

If you do, if all this sounds like it’s something you’d want to read. Then happy reading.

This book was sweet, cute and funny there was a moment of dumbness on a jocks part where he made a bet on someone he already thought was hot little did he know he’d like him and later love him. Corey was a fart boy through and through a DIK frat boy and the DIK sorority was right next to a house for smart people who love nerd things, this is where Spencer comes in he hates that Cory takes his parking space makes a big deal out of it in turn drawing attention from Corey. Spencer is drawn to Corey but he played a prank and it led to more interactions and he just couldn’t stop watching him from his window 🪟it got hot 🥵 the two of them are like flies on eachother once they go out the first time the third act breakup kills me but Corey swooped in and saved it 🥹 I loved it

Cute tale and a good angst with enough sass to keep you engaged.
Cory was a wild card and stood true to his character.

Amando a Série!

A low angst, fun read. Not as steamy as some other books, but with lots of the banter and "I wish I hated you" flirting that the author is so good at. The end was done well, and I loved the side characters.

This is nothing I haven't read before, the plot was pretty much the same as Riley Hart's book in this series. I'm starting to think almost all the books in the Franklin U series have the theme of enemies to lovers romance. I also can't say I saw much chemistry between the two MC, they didn't have the witty and entertaining banter that Ty and Brax had. Despite all that, I was in the mood to read something fluffy and this did the trick.
The only bit of depth I felt was Corey's worry about his future in the hustle culture. As someone also starting out, that made me agree wholeheartedly.
Read it to break a boring day's monotony.

Loved this book. It tapped into areas I didn’t know I enjoyed, voyeurism and mild coercion. It was hot and fast paced and definitely one I will re-read. Had to stop reading to view the video they discussed ☔️ - glad I did 😉 if you want a quick, hot, not too angsty, feel good read then this is for you. I haven’t downloaded any others in the series but it wasn’t necessary, this is a compete standalone from an author who I have enjoyed reading many books before.
