I used to use toothpicks to clean my teeth that works kind of ok and can hurt if you hand shakes like mine, PD. But these are soft and easy to use. They do a great job of cleaning at the gum line. As great as they are they are not recommended to replacing flossing. I use the plastic floss picks at home and use these when I am out. With the cap they stay clean when stored to use.

My dentist recommended these, and they work great. I have to use the Ultra Tight because my teeth are spaced very close together, but most people will probably be able to use the Medium. Easy to use: just insert between the teeth and move in and out. Works far better than a tooth pick for removing stuck food particles, and in some cases better than floss. You can reuse them for a long time - just rinse and recap them. But if the tip starts to bend be aware that bending back and forth will eventually break the brush part off and they can get stuck between your teeth. That happened to me once and I had a hard time removing it because of the narrow spacing between my teeth. Since then I can tell if the bending has weakened the brush, then I just switch to a new one.

These really do work - they saved my gums. Well worth the money at any price, but the six-pack here on Amazon is significantly cheaper per pack than any of my my local stores, and the Ultra-tight have been hard to find locally. 5 stars.

My periodontist put pressure on me to pay more attention to removing particles of food from the spaces between my teeth. He gave me samples of GUM Soft-picks. My observation is that the GUM Soft-picks bend and even fold on contact--so much so that, in my opinion, they are not particularly effective. But these GUM Proxabrush brushes are a different story. They are far less likely to fold excessively. I am very satisfied with them. I consider them to be an indispensable tool in periodontal care.
