I ordered this CD because it had 2 of Luke's songs that I had heard on the radio, but I found a treasure trove of his music that I can't believe I never hear played on the radio. It's almost impossible to qualify which I like best because I find a personal connection to so many of these songs. I ordered 2 more cd's and sent them to nephews because I knew they would also feel a connection to these songs. Of course, I love his voice and growing up in the South myself, love the extra vowels that seem to be added to many words (and Luke sings every one of them!). I find this a very uplifting smart record. I like supporting artists by buying their records since it is a compilation of music they have put together by design. Also, this way I get to hear their music unfiltered by the 'taste' of radio and other media disc jockeys. This CD/record is between Luke and his band and collaborators and me (and my 2 nephews). I'd love to see him in concert.

A long time ago i used to buy albums from singers that were what you call one hit wonders.They would come out with 1 or 2 amazing songs that played constantly on the radio and of course everyone wanted to get the album so they could have thoses 2 amazing songs and we wished the rest of the album was as great but often it wasnt the case and it felt like we got ripped off from what was mainly a 1 hit wonder act.When you buy a cd and 1 or 2 songs on it are amazing but the rest is so so kinda makes you feel like you didnt really get your money's worth.A few years back i discovered a few coutry singers that were the total opposite of that and mannnnn was that refreshing to finally buy cd's that not only had 1 or 2 good great tracks on it but where the whole cd was packed with one amazing song after the other.Thats what i got when i bought my first Jason Aldean cd and its also what i got when i bought my first Luke Combs cd.Jason and Luke might have that in common.Cd's that are packed with great songs and outstanding albums but they are very different in the way they approach country music.What i like about Luke Combs is the down to earth approach to it all.He pours his guts into it.At least thats what i feel when i listen to him singing and when i listen to the lyrics.Although i also love Jason's music i am not a fan of Jason the person in real life.I think he is a show off.Jason's music is more supperficial and reflects his personality.He sings a lot about drinking,getting drunk,heartbreaks and acts in his songs like he breaks so many hearts and like womens are so into him or so attracted to him.Believe me if Jason was not a country superstar i doubt he would be all that popular with womens lol.Jason also seems to like seeing himself as a cowboy or a desperado as evident in his new cd lol.Wich is a great cd by the way.Sorry Jason love your music just not a big fan of you.A guy who wants Donald trump for president,cheats on a great gal and marries an annoying barbie doll doesn't impress me.But now that i'm done my Aldean rant lets get back to the regular good old boy that deserves the success he gets and that's Luke Combs.Luke Combs is as real as it gets.And extremely talented.He's the proof that you don't need to be jacked up,be a gym body or a pretty boy to make it far in country music as long as you got the voice and the talent the sky is the limit.Luke has got an amazing voice.Probably one of the best in country music today.His voice is very powerfull.I think his trademark is probably how low is voice goes in most of his songs.But as low as his voice tend to go he can sing just as loud when needed on certain songs or on the choruses.Its a very particular voice.One you can recognize even if no one tells you its him just as soon as you hear it.And thats what you need in country music to be a star too.Luke tends to choose songs that are very relatable to most people unlike Jason Aldean.No Jason not everyone is a cowboy,a desperado or spends his nights in a bar on a hang over from a wild party night lol.And given that you have kids and are married Jason i doubt even you actually do that so why sing thoses types of songs? Luke sings about what he relates and lives it would seem.On this new album wich follows the previous album as a companion this time there is 18 tracks.A lot more than the first part album.This album with 18 tracks feels like a deluxe version of an album that was already release.It feels a bit long cause 18 tracks is a lot of tracks but don't get me wrong even though its long its a superb country album filled with great songs.Practically every song is just perfection as usual like past Luke Combs albums.One song i liked instantly and i am big on is '5 leaf clover'.What a great song and totally something that fits with how Luke sees himself.The song is all about him feeling he doesnt deserve all the success but how he feels lucky of it all.As usuall lots of songs shows a very mature side to Luke.Unlike Jason aldean who seems to sing about superficial things and lots of drinking and making himself look cool and bad ass.Luke is not really like that and doesn't sing about that.Luke also mentions his parents in his songs sometimes.Jason not so much.When i heard the song 'Your mama' from aldean i was amazed by that song and thought how thoughtfull that Jason finaly wrote a song about his mother the women who put him into this world wich makes sense you know to pay respect to your parents in your music at one point or another.But then i finaly found out that the song was written for his 'barbie doll' wife instead of his actual mom lol.Unlike Luke who wrote an amazing song on one of his previous albums 'without you' wich gives credit to his parents for where he is today.If you havent heard the song go listen to it it gives me chills everytime i hear it so much its touching and heartfelt towards his parents.Talking of chills the song on this new album called 'My song will never die' is one of thoses songs that gives chills its a deep song and the way Luke sings it from his heart is amazing.Anyways to cut this short this album is amazing and full of great songs.If you like his music buy this cd.You wont regret it.
