  • Product Description

Reimagining Novation's classic analogue monosynth for the new generation of electronic musicians, Bass Station II enhances and improves on the original in every area. Packing two oscillators (plus a sub-oscillator and noise generator), a multimode filter, amp and filter modulation, step sequencing and an arpeggiator, Bass Station II gives you everything you need to easily sculpt bleeding-edge basses, leads, pads and FX. 64 factory presets, 64 user slots and downloadable artist-created patches help to keep you inspired, with intuitively arranged controls and full sized 25-note keyboard to make it quick and easy to make Bass Station II your own.

    From the manufacturer

    Bass Station II

    The Analogue Monosynth Reborn

Nothing out there sounds this warm, fat and dirty. Bass Station II is our pure analogue Monosynth. We based it on our classic Bass Station, then enhanced every area to make it even bigger, angrier and more versatile. It has two tuneable oscillators, a sub-oscillator for enormous bass, plus noise and ring modulation. It also gives you two distinct analogue filter types: the classic multi-mode filter and a new acid filter, for a massive variation in sonic possibilities.

    Bass Station II

    Much more than bass

This synth can sound as mellow or aggressive as you want. Seek out sweet spots with the filter mod to make it sing. Crank the distortion and it will growl with pent up anger. Push the resonance to self-oscillation to create shrieking leads. Bass Station II can sound however you feel.

    Bass Station II

    Bass Station II

    Bass Station II

    Bass Station II

AFX Mode – A Class Remixed

AFX Mode is the realization of electronic music legend Richard James, aka AphexTwin. Put simply, it lets you modify your Bass Station II patch on a key-by-key basis. Use it to introduce subtle changes to a sound as you play up and down the keyboard; divide the keyboard into multiple zones, each playing its own sound; or create entire drum kits in a single preset for triggering manually or via the Arpeggiator.

    Easy Controls for Complex Design

We put as many controls as possible onto Bass Station II, so you can totally lose yourself in discovering and creating new sounds. Of course, we also laid out all those controls in the clearest and most useful way, to keep sound design as straightforward and fun as possible.

    Connect to Just About Anything

Fully class compliant, so you can plug into anything via USB and start playing. It also has MIDI I/O on 5 pin din ports, so you can connect your other MIDI gear. You can even connect an external instrument and run it through Bass Station II's analogue filter and effects.

    Improved Analogue Filter Stage

A 24dB Acid Filter that is even darker, wetter and smoother than the Classic.

I am writing this review after having purchased it in July of 2020. Oh boy, am I in love with my Bass Station II! Every time I turn it on and listen to its sound, I am taken away from day to day life.

Hear me out! I understand this is a monotone analog synthesizer. But the richness! The beauty of the sound! It's so crisp and amazing. This was the first synthesizer I've ever used. I was inspired by DeadMau5 Master Class on EDM, and, after his lessons on analog vs digital synths, I immediately bought this beautiful instrument.

Why is this instrument so great? The useability! The cutoff filter, arguably one of most enjoyable dials on any synth, is well-built and well crafted. It responds well to the touch and allows wonderful expressiveness of analog sounds. Wherever I bring my synth, I always have people asking about it. I love it!

How about everything else? I'll tell you what... I love to unintentionally play with sounds to see what I can come up with. The ease of changing envelopes, tone, and understanding what you're doing while you're doing it is GREAT on this synth. First synth? This is a great start. Do you own a music shop and want a GREAT new resident synth? This is your addition.

I love my Bass Station II, I have a special bond with this synth as it's my first! If you get this device, I hope you find great joy with it as I have.

All I can say is Wow! This new Bass Station 2 is a producers' dream. It has so many cool features that I can't begin to tell you how dope it really is! I'm going to create so many crushing new sounds and beats with this piece. It wont make any sense! The design and look are solid as well as the controls and switches. You have a lot to work with as far as oscillators, envelopes, and filters to design some of the sickest sounds and patches. It comes with about 70 presets that are off the chart in my opinion. And if you don't like any of those. You can tweak them and make your own mind blowing sounds from scratch. It even has a built-in sequencer to make entire song tracks! With all the parameter manipulation and control at your fingertips. There's nothing you can't create sonically! From drum beats to sweeping sonic riffs and cords. This baby almost does it all. It also comes bundled with Ableton Live Lite Software and a Novation Loopmasters Sample Sound Pack. (Really Cool!). If you are looking for the future of sound in a 25 key synth action keyboard. Look no further! Novation has gone above and beyond the call! Im loving my new Bass Station 2 synth! And even though it's my first. As sweet as it sounds. It may definitely be my last! I'm very happy I did my homework and got one. Worth every penny! I would definitely recommend to a friend.

I have owned a Korg Minilogue XD, Korg Wavestate, Moog Grandmother. The novation bass station 2 in my opinion is the best bang for the buck and inspiring to get you started playing music. Yet intriguing enough to keep you exploring it’s synth capabilities. Highly recommend. Only disappointment is that is has been difficult to upload firmware. I was looking forward to the polyphonic update.
