The author does a fantastic job of laying out specific tools and frameworks for effective communication, both in your personal life and business interactions.

Borrowing from lean manufacturing ideas, Malcolm describes how to take in information, think clearly, and then deliver a focused and concise message that is valuable to the listener. After reading "Lean Communication," I realized how poorly I had been communicating, saying things off the top of my head and often rambling without convincingly making my point. Applying and practicing the ideas in this book have had a significant positive impact on my communication skills.

If you want to be a better communicator, I strongly recommend this book.

I loved this book. It is peppered with amusing anecdotes drawn from history and literature but at its core it’s a very insightful guide to effective communication. Jack’s practical advice on everything from emails to formal presentations rang true. Each of the 12 brief chapters (note: brevity is one of the keys to cutting through our collective “continuous partial attention” disorder) includes valuable takeaways.

Buy it. Read it. Apply it. Share its wisdom with others.

I wish I had a book like this when I first started my business career. I'm grateful to Jack Malcolm that I have it now!
