Working with Emotional Intelligence Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,586 ratings

Do you work for an emotionally intelligent organization? In his phenomenal best seller Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman, Ph.D. mapped the territory where emotional intelligence meets I.Q. - where we apply what we know to how we live. His benchmark work validated what many successful people already knew: Being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you. Now, in Working with Emotional Intelligence, Dr. Goleman shows why emotional intelligence has become the new yardstick of success for CEOs and junior hires alike. Drawing on both unparalleled access to business leaders and cutting-edge research, he shows that star performance in every field depends more on emotional intelligence than on I.Q. or technical skills. You'll be surprised to learn how the impact of emotional intelligence is even greater at the top of the leadership pyramid and will benefit from the real-life examples from the business world that Goleman uses to illustrate his theory.

Working with Emotional Intelligence is an Excellent book!I liked it even more then Golemans first book “Emotional Intelligence”. This book covers in detail self competence as well as social competence. I liked the part self competence or self mastery more then the other parts. The topics related to self awareness , self assessment and self control are spread all over the book and great examples are used to elaborate these topics. Some techniques of self control which is not the scope of the book but are very useful if you are on the journey of self management.

Good use of stories and short sections make reading easy. I'm still reading it and find it at time to be a bit repetitive, however I find the repetition to be helpful as I try to remember key points.

I love studying EQ and teach an online course in the subject. He is my "go-to" source for most everything regarding this subject.

Great book to have when working in any environment where you are going to be dealing with a multitude of personalities among co-workers. I have Strengths Finder 2.0 and Emotional Intelligence 2.0 which are also great books and was told by an instructor that this book might be of use to me in the workforce, so I bought it. It has great information and is very helpful, and will be a great tool to have to maintain an understanding of the people around you so you don't want to rip your hair out dealing with them. Highly recommend!

A perfect continuity for everyone who has read ''Emotional Intelligence'' by the same author. If you are in the work force and holding a job, this knowledge will transform the way you understand ''working'' and will make you a happier worker. Amazing insights, backed up with scientific explanations but still easy and pleasant to read for a non-scientific mind.

This book of 382 pages can be written in 50/100 pages and kept me as a reader excited to keep reading.
Chapters and chapters telling stories that E.I. is important in company x and the chapter after talking about the E.I is also important in Company Y.

Like ok... I mean I agree with you, that's actually the reason I bought the book, to take me deeper in the topic not to read that it is important.

I read in the forums about emotional inteligence and wanted to find out more about this. This book is the perfect start. It has two parts.First you find out what emotional inteligence is (but in a complex way) and in the second part you get examples how and when to use it.

This book helped me a lot in the present to see how I feel but also made me see the past in a different way. A lot of moments where emotional ineligence played a big role and I didn't even noticed it.

I deffenitely recommand this book to anyone. It is very usefull to know that we can do something about our emotiones even though sometimes we fell like we can't control them.
