The BEST fajita seasoning ever!

I used to buy this fajita seasoning at one of my local health food stores that has bulk spices and teas that they sold by the ounce. Last year they stopped carrying this one so I tried a few brands from other stores, none of them were as good as this one. The flavor is excellent without being too peppery. If you want it a little pepperier you can add some to tailor it to your taste. I've also added it to quesadillas and mexican rice to enhance their flavor. After the 4th time of the health store not restocking it I asked what brand it was so I could find it online. I wasn't looking to buy a whole pound since I don't make fajitas every week, but this one is so good I didn't hesitate to order it from Amazon. I put a jar of it in the cupboard and tightly wrapped up the rest to store in the freezer.

I use a lot of Frontier seasonings (salt free varieties) and wanted to add Fajita to my stable of spices. I tried it with chicken, using it in a marinade, as Fajita is normally used. It was a little too spicy for my wife so next time I'll make the marinade a little more liquid and add less spice. It did an excellent job of tenderizing the chicken, too. And all at a Amazon's bargain price, especially compared to those supermarket packets and bottles which are mainly salt.

I have most of Frontier's Mexican-related spice blends. I was sure the fajita would be my favorite, mostly because it cost significantly more than the others. But guess what? I prefer the more modestly priced chili blends and taco blend.

I expected a complex but subtly nuanced fajita blend because I don't think I have ever eating super spicy fajita meat in any mexican restaurant and I eat a lot of Mexican food. I don't order fajitas much. Fajitas are fun but I always found the spices drab so I expected a mellow blend. I love Frontier anything, just about, so I had to try their $20 fajita blend. It's tasty, used moderately.

It has some lime in it, a nice touch, imo. Gives it an unexpected tang. But it's hot. use with that in mind.

I won't be ordering it again. I can make my own lime-added combos from all the spices I have bought by the pound.

Anyone reading this has likely discovered how much cheaper it is to buy spices from Frontier instead of those expensive jars in the spice aisle of most grocery stores. Those spice jar spices are such a bad deal for the consumer.

Fabulous spice with a nice light "burn" after glow on your palate! Absolutely love it, plus it's organic!!. Package states to use about 3 tsp per pound of meat, and that seems about right. I emptied the bag and found it to contain about 63 Tablespoons, so the bag should cover 63-65 lbs of meat. I also recently added this spice to mashed potatoes and WOW were they good!
