Great set of features, but not as premium as the price suggests

Great set of features, but not as premium as the price suggests
Let's start with what's good:The packaging is super fancy. It comes in a foil printed sliding box. It's nestled in cut-for-purpose black foam. The instructions are also printed on metallic paper - a very large sheet of metallic paper. The case is built out of very sturdy material. It feels like it could sustain drops and people stepping on it just fine. The lighting, while not strictly functional other than creating "ambiance" is well done. The fake PCB traces visible around the sockets are a cute touch that makes this look like functional art.The power cord is decently thick and should resist twisting. The plug is flat and angled at 45 degrees which is convenient-ish?The screen with power stats is pretty useful. It works similarly to a kill-a-watt or one of the dozens of different USB power meters. The USB ports are, in fact, capable of what they're rated for. PD on the USB-C ports works flawlessly, and you can easily get 5v 3A charging from the legacy USB.Other Observations:The GaN charging feels kind of gimmicky, at least as far as the display is concerned. It claims that if you connect a USB device to charge it, the GaN meter will "fill" as the device completes charging, but in my experience it just showed the charging animation the whole time whenever a USB device was plugged in.What's not-so-great:Despite being several pages long, the manual has very little useful information. There's plenty of space for several illustrations of the device along with graphics of robot arms and other "science stuff", but no room for explaining surge suppression capabilities. In fact the only thing that indicates this has any surge suppression at all is an ambiguous icon that says "Protection Module".They used security screws, and tension clips to make it difficult to dismantle, but after a bit of sweet talking it gave up its secrets. I've attached images. The little strip of electrical tape made me chuckle a bit.Inside there's a single 14D561K MOV - forgive the oversimplification, but that's the surge suppressor. MOVs are "sacrificial" which means that they degrade over time and with use - every time you trip the protection they get less and less effective. It's actually a pretty decent MOV, but it's only one. Normal surge suppressors have several MOVs to increase the longevity of the device. Just understand that if you ever do trip the protection circuit on this thing it's probably one and done.It was also a little disappointing to find 16AWG wire inside of this. If all you're using this for is a TV or a computer - something with fairly low wattage, 16AWG is perfectly fine, but the marketing materials claim this is good for 1625 Watts. It's not the end of the world, but most power strips in this price range are going to use 14 AWG or even 12 AWG.While it's very useful, the statistical readout on the screen is not configurable. It just cycles through a pre-programmed set of statistics, lingering on each one for a couple of seconds. I would have much appreciated the ability to lock it in place on one to watch something like wattage. Conclusion:This is vanity device. It truly is a piece of eye candy, and the plastic housing is sturdy. However the low effort surge suppression and small internal wire gauge make me less enthusiastic about using it for valuable equipment. You can achieve the same thing for a lot less money with a cheapo power strip, a multi-port PD charger and a kill-a-watt, though you won't look quite as good doing it.

I knew this is exactly what I was looking for as soon as i saw it. There is no other option as far as im concerned for an aesthetic focused surge protector. High quality build materials and enough visual bells and whistles to make it stand out if you cant hide your surge protector. 5/5 looking forward to your next project.

When I opened the box this power strip shipped in I was immediately impressed. The packaging the power strip came in was really cool and heavy duty. The strip itself also looks as good as the packaging. The lighting is cool the design is really unique.

The current monitoring capability is really cool and the USB ports on the side are handy. I have it set up on top of my desk for quick connections and it looks really good, everyone who has seen it was impressed.

However, it is really expensive for what you're getting. If you're looking for something that looks awesome and has cool current monitoring capability it is really unique in that and is definitively a good choice. But besides the wow factor it doesn't off much unique and the price is hard to swallow.

However my desk is way more useful and looks better than ever with this sitting on it!

If you like blinky lights and a cool looking power strip, this is for you. I have not tested the accuracy of the meter however this seems like a cheaply made power strip that looks cool and is overpriced. As far as protection goes, If you have high end equipment, you should go with a trusted brand like APC, Tripplite, etc. This thing does not have any UL or ETL, CE stamps so not sure how safe it actually is however doesn't seem to as bad as some of the junk on amazon. The cord is undersized in my opinion, 16 AWG for a 6 outlet power strip is questionable as most anything you buy from stores in the US will have a minimum 14 AWG and 10A breaker. This thing claims to have a breaker and one could hope its a 10A as the cable appears to be 16 AWG at best. All in all im using the thing now and it seems to be fine, however the build quality is not necessarily the best.

Randomly quit working. Was doing great and then just quit. Tried resetting it, unplugging it, nothing. My guess is it overheated and just stopped. Very cool looking but totally useless.

Do I really need an lcd screen on my power strip? Not really, but it looks cool. You can turn the color changing lights on or off. Its compact and sits nicely on a desk or countertop for frequently needed outlet use. Angled plug is convenient if you've got furniture in front of it like I do.

This is a handy power strip. I really like that it combines six nicely spaced 120 volt outlets along with two USB-A and two USB-C outlets. The lighting effect can be turned on or off. In the normal case, the lights pulse between different colors, but will flash red if there's too much power being drawn. There is a small LCD display that shows the input voltage, how much current is being drawn (in amps), how much power is being drawn (in watts) and total power consumed (in kilowatt hours). I don't know how to reset the power meter other than turning the power strip off and on again. The charging indicator is supposed to give some indication of progress (i.e. how long until your device is fully charged), but I've found that it just shows an animated bar anytime something is plugged into any of the USB ports.
If you're into lighting effects on your gear, then this is a pretty cool power strip. If you're not, it's still a nicely laid out power strip with enough outlets and charging ports for most desktops. The information display is a bit of a gimmick -- I would find it far more useful if I could set it to display just one of the measurements rather than cycling through them.
For my purposes, I think this device is handy, but quite expensive compared to other power strips.

Color: WhiteVine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
So all that I can really find in the instructions regarding the lighting for this power strip is that the light control button is the little round one on the left (on the bottom right hand side of the device). And that when the device is turned on, the lighting button can be pressed to turn the lighting off and pressed again to turn it back on. And that if you press and hold it for more than 3 seconds the display will turn off. Other than that all they really say is, "Under normal conditions, four types of lights - pink, orange, green, and blue - cycle alternately." So anyway... Just double press the lighting button and the color that's already showing should blink a few times. And once that happens you can double press the button again to switch to the next color and so on. Not a slow double press either. A quick double press like you'd do with a mouse on a computer. I sure am glad I figured that out though, because my default color is pink... I don't have anything against the color pink, lol. I just prefer a different color is all. However, the power strip also apparently doesn't have any memory function for the lighting, because every time I turn it off and back on the default pink color is on.

I mainly got this for how cool it looks. I just wish the display was more helpful. From what I can tell, all it really shows that's helpful is the wattage that something is charging at. And to know what one device is charging at, the device needs to be charging alone. Because if two devices are charging it will only give the combined wattage that they are charging at. For example, if one device is charging at 30 watts and another is charging at 10 watts, the screen will only keep showing 40 watts. So to know how much wattage each device is charging at, they would have to be charged alone. And then, they say that the screen should show the amps, volts, and watts right? Well, all my display shows is the combined wattage of whatever is charging, and it shows the volts as being around 123 V. It doesn't show the amps at all, and usually everything that I charge charges at 5 V, so I don't know where 123 V is coming from.

Ultimately, in a market where a product comes out and like, a hundred other companies just come out with a product that's almost identical, I have to give kudos to this company for daring to offer something a little different. And no matter what you think about this power strip, I would keep an eye on this company. They don't have a lot of products yet, but what I've seen that they've come out with has all been pretty innovative and original. Now, all they need to do is make their devices do what they say they do and this company would be awesome! But as of now, I'm afraid I can't give a good score to something that I was told will display the volts, amps, and watts of the devices that I'm charging, when it doesn't show the amps, displays a voltage that doesn't make any sense, and will only display the combined wattage of multiple devices...
