I brought this product 11 months ago. I initially purchased this product because it was wireless. It has to be charged before you can use it. Which is an issue for my use. When the computer shuts off or goes into sleep mode, it isn't charging. When I turn the computer on or wake it from sleep mode the scanner has to "recharge" again. It's constantly in charging mode and I do not even get to use it. If I can replace it with the corded barcode scanner, I would. Not worth the $222. Go with the corded scanner, it is your better option. Do not waste your time with this product.

This scanner was plug and play. I took it out of the box and was able to use it immediately. There were no special efforts needed and it arrived surprisingly fast. There was one time that I had to return it to the cradle for a few seconds because it wouldn't scan an item but other than that, it's been grab and go. I'm very happy with this purchase and since it's the only bluetooth scanner recommended for quickbooks point of sale, it was less than half the price that they were charging for the same item.

Work provided me one of these and I initially liked it but the wireless function is junk. The scanner feels good in my hand and the programmability is great, however the battery life blows. At first I thought I had a bad unit so I sent it back but the second one has the same problem. After about 3 minutes off the base the battery light flashes and the scanner shuts off until I place it back on the base. Overall if I wanted a corded scanner I would have bought one for a lot less money. I will say that it can scan some messed up barcodes that my other scanners cannot.

Years ago, I helped pioneer portable barcode readers.

I am impressed with the simplicity and price point of this device. The installation is about as simple as you can get: plug it into a USB port. That's it. The scanner uses preexisting keyboard drivers shipped with Windows and MacOS. The BlueTooth connection is pre-established. Bluetooth is used between the reader and the cradle, so there is nothing to set up and no Bluetooth port is needed on the PC.

Out of the box, the scanner reads most all barcodes. I had a little trouble at first, which was traced to the quality of my custom printed codes, not the reader. During troubleshooting, I found that the reader is easily programmed by scanning special command labels from the user guide. This allows you to turn off unused code symbologies. For well defined labels, this isn't necessary. We bought a second and just use the default settings

At a $325 price point this is a bargain. My only concern is the mechanical aspects. This device looks very sturdy in a desktop or retail operation, but may not be rugged enough for a factory floor application where it may be dropped from larger distances. For our application, the price point allows replacements if necessary.
