One huge positive of this design is the ability to mount the mirror off to the side of the headrest, which gives a much better angle of view of the child as well, without the seat blocking half of the mirror. The only downside is that some headrests need to be extended beyond their normal travel in order to accommodate the large clamp.
Even with the clamp tight, I found the mirror can rotate if you brake hard in traffic, especially when it is cantilevered off to the side of the headrest. I found that the vertical knob had come loose over a period of time, and a simple twist ended the problems!
Overall, I am very pleased. The mirror doesn't vibrate like the strap type, and the tight ball joint remains locked in the position it is set to. The mirror itself is a little smaller than some others, but that doesn't hurt the performance when you can set the angle reliably, and the image remains clear.

The clamp mirror fits great on the 2023 MY backseat headrest. I bought 2 for our two kiddos and pointed them at their seats. I like this option a lot better than our previous vehicle that had the mirrors directly in front of them)
I included two pictures, one looking into the rear view mirror (and yes, i can still see out of the, already small, MY window), and one looking at the backseat from the driver seat.
Im really happy with this setup. The clamps were easy to attach and are very sturdy. I don't have anything bad to say about these. If you have a MY, or other car with a middle headrest, this clamp mirror should be your choice.

I've tried several different mirrors to be able to monitor my son while rear-facing. We plan to keep him rear facing for as long as our setup will allow. I've tried a couple of actual camera car monitors, but I'm a bit limited by my refusal to have my field of vision reduced by a dash-mount system..
Cue this mirror. I was SO excited when I saw this one & thought this would surely be the answer to my prayers. For reference, I drive a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, and this mirror was installed onto the headrest bar for the seat behind me. My review is absolutely specific to my vehicle/setup, but I do think that sharing my experience could be helpful for others who have a similar size/style vehicle.
---------------
PROS:
-Very sturdy when the arm adjustment points are screwed in TIGHT.
-Large mirror gives a very clear view of the kiddo (my son is 22 months & already 37" tall)
- The ball adjustment immediately behind the mirror is *just* loose enough for me to position it while also being "tight" enough where it isn't shaking all over while driving.
- The way it's mounted absolutely allows you to at least *mostly* eliminate the blind spot from the driver's headrest that you deal with when using strap-mounted mirrors.
-As far as this type of product is concerned & what's on the market, it feels to be of at least decent quality.
----------------
CONS:
-It was fairly difficult to tighten the screw-in adjustment points because the seat & headrest were in the way. As far as I can tell, there isn't a way to flip things around to allow for a more customizable installation.
-Limited clearance between the headrest and the top of the seat made tightening the adjustment points very difficult to get things *just right*.
-My son's height means he has very long legs. This meant that I had to rotate this mirror 45° counter-clockwise in order to keep him from being able to use his feet to reach/play with it. This not only reduced my ability to view him fully, but considering how close it was to being within his wiggly feet's reach also showed me that this mirror would not be a good fit for more than 6 months.
----------------
THE TAKE-AWAY:
- It's a decent quality mirror that (in the right vehicle) would be a wonderful solution to montioring your rear-facing child without having the spend $60+ on a camera system. If this were the case for our setup, it would've been absolutely worth every bit of the $30 price tag.
-What my experience sees as product design issues with this mirror *might* not be relevant for your setup, but they were enough for me to decide to return it & begrudgingly resume my search for something that will work for a longer period of time.
-It led to some "Shark Tank" ideas that (I feel) could make a lot of $ considering how many parents drive larger vehicles with interiors like mine. But if I'm honest, I can barely keep up with just regular life - so me going forward with something like that is.. frankly.. a pipe dream.
*All of that being said, I think I'm going to try a suction cup mounted mirror meant for the car. I don't like the idea of mounting it from the rear moonroof for fear I'll forget it's there & close the visor while it's mounted, but I thought I should share that idea for parents whose vehicle have this feature.
Much more professional looking than the strap mirrors and stays put. I was able to use it for the rear bench seat in my F-250 which is a very awkward place to have a baby seat. Only downside is it sits pretty low and not as easy to look in.
