Porsche and motorsport always belonged together – so you could think. But in fact, private owners were the first to be successful with their 356s on the racing tracks. The Porsche 550 Spyder from the 1950s was the first racing car manufactured at the plant – and achieved great successes right from the beginning!

Over de auteur

René Staud eröffnete 1975 sein erstes Foto-Studio. Der große Durchbruch gelang ihm mit der Entwicklung von Magicflash©, einem speziellen Blitzlichtverfahren, das neue Standards in der Studio-Fotografie setzte. Mit diesem Licht bekommen die Karosserien Körper, die Autos werden zu Skulpturen. Staud ist einer der bekanntesten Automobil-Fotografen der Welt.

This is a very elegant coffee table picture book about all the unusual and famous Porsche cars over the years. A heavy book, 12x12 by 1 inch thick. The corrugated cardboard shipping package was very flimsy and not at all adequate to protect this large and heavy book. On arrival the packaging was ripped open and the book was falling out. Fortunately the spine of the book was only slightly damaged. The shipping company deserves credit for making sure the book wasn't lost, although they might have applied some tape along the way to better contain the book when the package got ripped open.
