I have loved it since I got the first one, and this one is faster and more RAM, and new sounds and combinations. It is a miraculous thing!
The main reason I bought it is that it has in it all that I could want in terms of sounds and synth engines (9), which include engines specifically devoted to pianos, plucked string instruments, Organs (don't care), sample based, analog and digital synthesis (of several kinds). Oh, and then add to that KARMA, which seems kind of gimmicky but is super fun to play around with for hours.
I bought this Keyboard in January and am still learning lots of new and cool things to do with it. The manuals are, not surprisingly for Korg, both very detailed and difficult to understand. AskVideo/MacProVideo has two separate tutorials for sale that will get you going pretty quick (the advanced video seems very new, and I just started watching it). I use the Kronos with Logic on my Mac. Audio recording through the Kronos is a breeze. Midi is more tricky and I am still figuring that part out. For now, I play a part in Midi, bounce it to an audio track, freeze it and go. Kinda lame, but works at the moment.
The software that comes with it, which supposedly allows you to control the Kronos from you computer (Mac version) is terribly slow, latency is the worst, so I don't use it. Cool idea, needs a new iteration or faster transfer protocol.
The keyboard is not as nice as the one on my Roland A-90, but might be better for what I do. This is because, even though the Kronos 88 has a weighted keyboard, it is less heavy, more springy, but also less realistic feeling than the one on the A-90. Considering Piano is not something I use that often, that is fine.
I also have a Korg NanoPad controller, which is cool for drum sounds, and it automatically maps chords in most sounds that come factory install.
My biggest problem with the keyboard is the complex, unintuitive, difficult, and slow way you have to install and then load third-party sounds. While it is true that this is the only keyboard I've owned where you can actually do this, with modern SSD and RAM technology and prices, along with the large touchscreen, using arcane user bank systems seems really dumb and cumbersome. I'm used to DAW Plugins like Omnisphere, Zebra, and Native Instruments stuff where you can buy third party presents and samples, install them, and they are incorporated into an ever expanding library. Not so with the Kronos, where you are limited to loading at one time 21 banks of 127 sounds each (2667). That sounds like a lot, and it is, but 80% of those sound banks are already used with the factory install. I have less than half of my 60GB of internal storage (2 30GB SSD drives) used, but if I want to add much, I have to uninstall some of the factory sounds from RAM. The way to do it is hard enough that I usually don't bother, which means there are some great third-party sound banks out there that I probably will not purchase because I don't want to deal with an install procedure that is rather DOS like (I left the world of DOS in 1988 when I bought my first Mac, not interested in returning). It's not that bad, but it is much more difficult than it should be.
So, all in all, I have no regrets buying this keyboard, and am in fact wildly impressed with it every time I sit down to play around with it, it is just that much fun. I am guessing it is also really useful and solid for those who do live gigs (probably its main purpose). If in the next OS version (currently at version 3.0.4), Korg figures out a better way to install extra sounds into RAM and gives us a way to use extra banks, I will consider upping it to a 5.
