It was delivered today. I was very happy until I opened the box. There are many questions about whether this machine was a new product. Thinking returning and re-ordering it.

This is a wonderful air purifier. I've had it running constantly since I received it a couple of weeks ago. It started making a big difference in a couple of days. My allergy symptoms have virtually disappeared (indoors at least). It is obviously removing the pollen, dust and mold from the air in my home. I can see the difference with the dust, and I can feel the difference with the other allergens. The gas/odor filter also works very well. A neighbor's cooking smells are often unpleasant and strong -- this filter made them disappear. The unit is very quiet on the middle and lower speeds, and not bad on the higher speeds. This Swiss-made air purifier appears to be very well made. The materials and construction appear to be high quality. It is an expensive item, but if you live in a region where there is year round pollen, dust and mold, and you are allergic to it all, this is definitely worth the investment. But BEWARE: if you do not purchase this item directly from the manufacturer, or if you select a seller on the Amazon site that is not an authorized dealer, your unit will have no warranty at all. The seller I selected when I bought this unit on Amazon was an Authoruzed dealer, but somewhere along the way, my unit was sold by a different seller that was not even on the Amazon list of sellers. That dealer was not authorized by IQAir. I resolved the issue after speaking with an IQAir rep, who was very professional and attentive. She authorized their basic 1-year limited warranty, but could not offer me their free upgrade to a 10-year warranty. I accepted this offer so I have one year of coverage on this expensive machine, and I did not have to go through the hassle of returning the unit to Amazon, getting a refund, finding another (authorized) seller, and ordering another machine. This air purifier is absolutely worth the investment, but at that price, there should be a warranty. Avoid this problem by either buying direct from the manufacturer or making sure before you buy on Amazon that the seller you select is the one who is your actual seller, and that seller is an authorized dealer. I personally prefer to shop using Amazon Prime. I got my unit at the promised time, very well packaged, and in perfect condition. The seller, when I contacted them by email, was very helpful, but unfortunately was not an authorized dealer. They offered to provide a warranty themselves, but I wanted my warranty directly from the manufacturer. If you prefer, as I did, to buy on Amazon, I think you can go to the IQAir website to find out which Amazon sellers are authorized dealer. I have suggested to Amazon that they make sure someone doesn't switch sellers on you, and that they make it very clear that you are, or are not, buying from an authorized dealer, and the impact that can have on your warranty.

We certainly notice less sneezing from kids after the unit is installed and running. The assembly is very easy (only the caster wheels need to be assembled), true to IQAir's claim of "ready-to-use". The unit has 6 settings, and anything at or less than 3 (equal to 170 cfm) is very quiet that the noise is not noticeable. At the maximum setting the fan is certainly loud, but we usually don't use it at that level.

The remote control works, but would have to be pointed at the unit at a very specific angle, so we don't really use it.

I wish the unit has more settings available for timer. Right now it can only do a bloc of time. For our usage scenario it would be more useful if it can allow several blocks on/off during the day.

I bought this machine about 3 months ago and have been happy with it. I have dogs and a cat in my house which comes with orders as anyone knows that have pets. It clears up the cooking food odors well too. But at 5:30 this morning it got its ultimate test. I let my dogs out to potty and they got sprayed by a skunk. I let them back in so the skunk smell permeated my whole house. I was half asleep so didn’t realize they had been sprayed before they came in the house. After I got them back out I turned on the air machine and it removed the skunk smell within 20 minutes. I live in the country and have this happen several times to my dogs and trying everything I know to do have never had anything remove the skunk odor that fast

This gets a ton of great reviews, many with all kinds of great technical detail, so I won't go into that. The unit is big, kind of heavy, has cheap wheels (which I elected to not even install) but is dead quiet on low settings, not super loud at high settings and really, Really, REALLY sucks the dust and crap out of the air. We have one for our 2300 square foot house and it cleaned out the dust in the shared living room/dining room/kitchen in a day or two and the rest of the houes in a week or two. Our allergies to molds, dust mites and stuff like that are WAY down. Yes, it's more expensive than almost every other vendor we looked at, but it's built like a tank, has a really solid warranty and the filters (there are three) last for a year and a half for one on up to four years for the third one. It's a solid value. If you enjoy breathing (it's a favorite activity of mine and I try to do it daily), this is a great investment.

This filter is expensive but worth the money. I did research and it's rated very high and certified to remove the most particles out of the air. I bought a $300 Honeywell rated as "HEPA" but there are various grades and this unit filters out much smaller particle sizes. I run it full time in our bedroom and it works great. I don't wake up with a stuffed up nose any more. Regarding the pre filter at the bottom where the unit pulls in air, I lay the entire unit on its side and use our Dyson hand wand to clean the surface of the filter once a week or so, whenever we vacuum the carpet. It's very close to the carpet and pulls in debris that sticks against it. Hopefully, that will make the prefilter last longer. I'm actually thinking about ordering another one for our den.

I was skeptical about buying this product, but I needed something that would help with the wild fires that are now commonplace every summer. Simply put this product is amazing. Are there cheaper air purifiers that do as good a job? We live in a basement suite, in an old house, in a city that rains about three quarters of the year.
