Entry Level: A Second Chance Small Town Romance Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 171 ratings

My hot new neighbor hates me.

A year ago, Owen Smith and I spent one epic weekend together, and it was almost enough to make me upend my life and move to the Fingerlakes to be with him. Instead, I got scared and put an end to our long-distance chance at love.
But when a twist of fate sends me back to small town Kitchi Falls for good, I’m hopeful we can pick up where left off.

Not. Even. Close.

Now everyone in town is wondering why the normally affable owner of KC’s Taphouse won’t even look at me. Why he avoids me every time we’re in the same place. Why his gorgeous smile disappears at every mention of my name.
Every chance encounter and rebuffed attempt only remind me of his touch, of everything I lost because I wanted to protect myself from heartbreak.

Now all I want is a second chance.

Last summer, Owen Smith and Lusanne DeLuca spent one incredible night together while she was visiting the small town of Kitchi Falls for her grandfather's funeral. They secretly dated long-distance for two months afterwards, and it seemed things were going well until she suddenly decided to end the relationship, claiming that there was no future for them because neither had any intention of moving. Her circumstances have changed, however, and Lusanne's back in Kitchi Falls to stay as the new owner of the local bakery. She hopes they can pick up where they left off, but it won't be easy to convince Owen to give her a second chance.I really enjoyed this sweet yet steamy story. I particularly appreciated that Owen made Lusanne work for his forgiveness because it forced her to be honest with herself as well as him about her fears. Once they'd worked through all of their issues, they ended up being really cute together, and I was rooting for them the whole way.I'd recommend "Entry Level" for all contemporary romance fans and look forward to picking up Lusanne's brother Gian's book next.

If you haven’t read any of the "Boys of Bridgewater" series from Bella Michaels, then go jump right in, as it compliments "Grando Valley Vineyards" series. Gets you craving for more.
This story "Entry Level " is the perfect connection to both.
With Lus and Owen, sparks fly from the first meet, but distance is a challenge.
I love how, for this magical Christmas time of year, when you know, you know. Lus and Owen see that and grab on with both hands. Beautiful short Christmas Romance.

I was asked to read and give a honest review on this book. It was a great book, but a lot going on. This is a stand alone, but I feel like you really needed to read the other books in the series to understand everything going on. Great book though.

I absolutely adored this second chance romance. Both Owen & Lusanne were the one that got away after an eye-opening one night stand kinda weekend. Then an attempt at a long distance relationship just didn’t work for them. But fate and chance would have Lusanne coming back to Kitchi Falls to take over the local bakery…right across from Owen’s bar. Their attraction never fizzled out, but instead it just grew. Their happily ever after was well fought for and one that was just meant to be.

Owen has been in love with Lusanne ever since they spent that weekend together 15 months ago. But after trying long distance, she broke up with him out of the blue. Now she's back in town without so much as giving him a phone call and he is not thrilled she bought the business across from his bar.
Lusanne knew Owen was the one. But with neither of them willing to relocate, she unhappilyended their relationship. Now she's moved into his town to start a new business and can still feel the spark. But Owen doesn't make it easy on Lusanne. She has to figure out if he still wants her and is willing to forgive her.

This is a sweet, quick second chance novella. The spice is minimal, but you can feel that these 2 characters desperately want what they think they can't have.

Owen and Lusanne have such a great love, even a separation and break up will never change that. Such a good book of coming together again. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Gotta love big Italian families!

Owen finally gets his woman! But is she new, or a second chance? Is she a stranger or someone we already know? I can say this, it’s a perfect way to tie two families together even more strongly and the best way to lead into what may be quite the journey for Gian.

Owen and Lusanne were a once was, in a very brief way. But distance and fears and worries got in the way, so now that he’s seeing her again, 15 months later, Owen isn’t ready to place nice. Especially since it appears that Lus is here to stay now. And as men are apt to do, he lets his dumb emotions lead the way at first. But all that does is bring attention to both his longing and Lusanne’s regrets. So these two have to figure out how to coexist in a small town for the long haul. Sometimes, though, coexisting isn’t enough. Sometimes, the timing is finally right and what once was can have a real chance at being forever.

Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on Owen and Lus finding their way back to each other. It’s a little angsty. It’s emotional. It’s full of fun and family and love. And donuts. Because Lusanne is now officially the new owner of Divine, and she isn’t forgetting just how much this town loves their cinnamon donuts! So get comfy, make sure your stomach is full, and enjoy the road back to happiness with these two.

Lusanne and Owen's story.

Lusanne had the night of her life with Owen but was afraid the long distance relationship wouldn't work so she called it off. Now, months and months later an opportunity arises where she can purchase the coffee/donut shop and try to win him back since she's local now and planning to stay. But he hates her now, she has her work cut out for her.

Owen is finding it hard to trust Lusanne again. How quickly she ended things as if it didn't mean to her what their relationship meant to him. Her smile doesn't fool him, he can't trust her with his heart again. Can he?

Great novella, highly recommend as I do ANY of this author's books. They're all amazing and you can't choose wrong. I was gifted with an ARC and wanted to post my thoughts.

I love a good second chance story and Entry Level had it all! Lus and Owen had the tortured background, emotional baggage, angst and then all the spice. I loved watching them come full circle and overcome those feeling and triumphs for their beautiful HEA.

Or is it own your mistakes?
Lus makes the mistake of a lifetime, she then has to deal with her heartbreak whilst facing up to her mistake and admitting how wrong she was. For me, Lus is difficult to understand here as she has obviously been brought up as a strong confident woman, part of a tight knit, large family and encouraged to follow her dreams, which makes her actions questionable. I am not sure she understands them any more....so Owen has no chance!
Despite me not understanding Lus, this is a sweet novella which I read on Kindle Unlimited.
