  1. Make sure the power off;
  2. Connect the probe to the ignition device;
  3. Connect the thermocouple itself to the gas valve；
  4. Check the thermocouple and dump switch connection.

Sweet Tips

  1. Please check whether the size of our thermocouple and dump switch is consistent with your original equipment before purchasing.
  2. Make sure the thermocouple is well connected to the dump switch or valve.
  3. If the knob is released, the gas valve closes again. Please check that your thermocouple is always on the flame. Turn on the gas and push the valve for 5-10 seconds until the thermocouple probe is heated.
  4. Keep the thermocouple probe about 5mm away from the burner hole.

I got this for a patio heater from Costco. It was not easy to install, as there were extra parts needed like a mounting nut for the auto shut off. At first I apparently mounted it in the wrong orientation, but once I got that figured out, it worked well.
