Learn more about the history of the feast that started off as a harvest celebration and has now become a national holiday.

After their first harvest in 1621, the Pilgrims at Plymouth shared a three-day feast with their Native American neighbors. Of course, the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag didn’t know it at the time, but they were making history.

I used this book for a thanksgiving read aloud in our homeschool. It was very informative and very fun to read. It also kept my 4th grader and my 1st graders attention.

This is a great series for struggling readers. I teach SDC junior high and put this on my desk. Kids want to read it. It has lots of pictures and is appropriate for junior high students. It is in large print and is interesting for me as well. The Who Was biographies and the other What Was? books in the series (like Pearl Harbor) are also high interest for my junior high students.

This is an ideal book for young children (age 7 to 10) learning about the Pilgrims coming to the New World of in search of religious freedom. It also contains lots of information about the Wampanoag who befriended the Pilgrims and about Thanksgiving history and traditions. Highly recommended.

I am a big fan of Who HQ books! I haven’t read one that I didn’t like!

I don't know why I didn't realize this was a chapter book! I ordered it to read to my class, but realized after ordering it, that it would be a bit over their heads. It was a good read for me to brush up on some history though.

This book gave so much information on the first thanksgiving! My kids have always been taught the basics but this went way more in depth and was still engaging for them!
