In order to improve closeness and intimacy in all relationships, it is important to first understand the clear parallels between adult behavior and childhood experiences. Attachment Theory combines traditional teachings with knowledge of subconscious patterns to provide powerful tools for powerful change.

Through interactive quizzes, wrap-up summaries, and real strategies you can implement in your daily life, you'll learn the tools needed to reprogram the outdated beliefs causing chaos in your life and relationships - romantic, platonic, or familial.

Inside Attachment Theory, you'll find:

  • What's your style? - Begin with the four basic attachment theory styles - Dismissive-Avoidant, Fearful-Avoidant, Anxious Attachment, and Secure Attachment.
  • The best methods - Using the three primary forms of therapy - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and RAIN (Recognition, Acceptance, Investigation, Non-Identification) - you'll begin to reprogram your subconscious mind.
  • Old meets new - Learn through a mix of traditional psychological methodologies and new, cutting edge techniques of attachment theory.

Interesting
this is a pretty interesting book it has a lot of interesting information and although it is written from front to back I think you could jump in anywhere and just read bits and pieces of it and still get a lot of benefit. It's full of quizzes and ways to understand other people ways to understand yourself it's not a lot of good information in nice sort of bite-sized chunks

I got this to better understand myself and people around me, I had no idea I had such a high secure attachment and anxious attachment! Knowing this I can now take the steps to heal these parts of myself so I don't go and bleed on others. I highly recommend this to anyone who might feel like you need to improve yourself in order to better communicate and understand others. To better navigate through manipulation and set boundaries as well

Good tools for improving communication and relationships. Touched on tools a relationship counselor suggested to me but the book explains the methods of identifying emotions and resolving conflicts better than my former therapist and explains in ways that helped me understand how I can implement these methods in my relationship.

My therapist recommended this book. It helped me realize my attachment style and my boyfriends. Of course this was just a start, but it helps to lead you to secure attachment. Great book with examples that help you see how another attachment style interprets the same problem.

I really wanted to love this book based off her YouTube videos. However, only 18 pages in this book is a mess. Topics jumps around, it’s hard to follow, and it does not sound like it was written professionally. I personally liked the book attached better.

Stumbled across this book by accident, never heard of attachment theory until a week ago, this book is simply perfect, it has a vast amount of valuable insight, really good examples and it even explains to you how to implement these specific practices into your own life to improve your own life relationships and to broaden your knowledge on everything we do and say. Can’t rate this book anymore than 5 star, otherwise i would. Really good read, easy to get stuck into and brilliant insight.

There are four attachment styles: Secure which has nothing to complain about, Anxious Preoccupied who overthinks everything, Fearful Avoidant who craves connections but will sabotage any relationship because they seem too good to be true and then comes the Dismissive Avoidant, the typical emotionless independent unavailable partner. If all of your relationships always end the same, READ THIS BOOK and watch Thais Gibson's videos on YouTube

Great intro book on attachment styles! I signed up for her inline courses shortly afterward and so much of my life makes sense now! I feel like I've solved a riddle. EVERYONE should read up on attachment styles - once you learn it, you start seeing it EVERYWHERE: friends, colleagues, romantic relationships, movies, etc. They should teach this stuff in high school.
