Customers like the ease of setup of the printer. For example, they say it's a breeze to set up, easy to connect to WiFi, and setup using the app. Some mention that the computer app is much easier to use than those associated with their past HP printers. That said, most are happy with the ease with which they can use the printer and scan to email.
"...It came quickly and set up was easy - that's the good news!..." Read more
"...really like the way it works wirelessly with all my stuff and was easy to set up. The hardest was the plastic clamps on the ink...." Read more
"...It was easy to get out of the box because before it was stuffed in the Styrofoam, they put it in a plastic bag with handles so you can easily take..." Read more
"...I had difficulty using the document feeder to scan lease documents that are lengthier than the standard A4 paper size..." Read more
Customers are mixed about the print quality of the printer. Some mention that it prints fairly well, while others say that it stopped working after 1 year of use in a classroom.
"...The machine runs great and the prints are wonderful, but the situation has been very costly. Lets hope this unit lasts us more than two years!!!" Read more
"...2. This is the slowest printer I've ever seen or even heard about printing the first page. I'm using this at home and don't need to print often...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the value of the printer. Some mention that it's a good printer for the money, the price was in their range, and it included features they liked. However, others say that it was not only a waste of money, it will steal hours and hours, and that it is not HP's finest effort.
"...machine runs great and the prints are wonderful, but the situation has been very costly. Lets hope this unit lasts us more than two years!!!" Read more
"...More than what I typically spend for a home scanner/printer, but well worth it. Why do I say Scanner/Printer ?..." Read more

Customers are dissatisfied with the quality of the printer. They mention that the build quality is very poor, the flimsy parts break easily, and it feels cheap. The paper holder is made of thin plastic, so be careful when filling or moving the paper. The plastic pieces hinges and lids are delicate, and the printer reported possible damage. The ink doesn't last long at all, and also the scanner stopped recognizing their phone for no reason.

When I turn on the printer, it takes a minute for it to startup, which might feel long but honestly is not bad at all.
I just appreciate how good the printing, scanning and copying quality is. Previously I had ordered a Brother printer and the quality wasn’t as good as this HP one!
It’s totally up to you if you want to enroll in the program called ”Save up to 50% on ink and never run out”.. I haven’t enrolled yet and might not since I don’t use up the ink too quickly anyways.
I’m using this printer for personal and professional use, like many others I work mostly from home so this is a nice printer for work from home jobs.
I give this a 5 star!!

When you install this printers drivers, it forces you to use its HP Smart app. It's possibly the worst printer software I've seen. You CANNOT use ANY of the main functionality buttons on the home page without signing up, and logging into an HP account. This includes scanning from your computer, and using Mobile Fax. I would not recommend signing up for an account with them, who knows what additional telemetry is being sent to HP and then sold on if you agree to any of that.
Scanning is borderline completely broken. If you scan to your computer via the printer, the software on the printer hangs for 30 seconds, then says it could not find your computer. BUT the second you hit "OK", it magically finds the PC, and scans the document. Now imagine doing with with over a dozen documents. No it's not a wireless problem, it's connected to my router 3 meters away, which my PC is hooked up to via ethernet.
Good luck using the top feed scanner, if your documents have the slightest crease in them or are slightly misaligned, it will 100% get jammed. What happens when it gets jammed? The printer doesn't just yell at you that it's jammed, it completely CANCELS the current scan job, forcing you to scan from page 1 again. Now mix that in with the 30 second scan delay, and now you start to see the other option is faster since you can't predict when pages will get jammed.
HP support will just throw you a link to use generic drivers, which didn't necessarily help much either. They also tell you that tech support incurs a fee of $40 or something crazy like that, but your instance is free, WHAT? WHO EVEN CAME UP WITH THAT.
The print quality is fine, not great for full color images, you very clearly see the lines between head passes. For text and stuff, it's acceptable.
BUT, if you don't print for a while, the ink inside those cartridges disappears at a rate that I've never seen before. I don't print for a few weeks, capacity is significantly reduced. Over the several months I've had this, I've only printed about 100 pages that had color on them (not full pages with full color, a few images and highlights here or there), and my color cartridges were completely depleted.
Overall: Don't. I had to move my laser into the office, and this printer was what replaced it, and I've never missed another printer this much before.

. My only concern is with the HP Instant Ink system. The product is advertised on Amazon’s website as coming with 4 free months of Instant Ink but the packaging states that it comes with only 2 months. How do I get the extra 2 months stated on Amazon website?
