I don’t know why Amazon says these are frequently returned but best $8 I have spent. My baby was 3 weeks early and we were having some trouble latching and well he is squirmer. We finally got the left side down but right side he still wasn’t a fan. Slapped one of these on and little man goes to town. These literally saved my sanity and kept me from giving up! 10/10 recommend!

As far as the shield it’s self. Seems sturdy enough but thin enough it’s comfortable. Sticks well to my skin and is perfect fit for even my small baby’s mouth. Love the case to for on the go!

My wife was nervous to use a shield with all the controversial literature and LCs discouragement. However, nothing is more stressful for a new mom then when their new baby won't latch. Our little guy would fight it and feeds became very stressful (not fun when you are feeding every 2 hours). The shield allowed him to latch easily, decreased the overall stress and anxiety around feeding, and a lot less crying.

My wife was able to wean our guy from the shield around 10 weeks when he was a bit older. Our guy is still BF without a shield months later and not confused at all.

The only negative we found was the stress of ensuring you always had a shield with you if you were going to be feeding on the go or in public. So we bought multiple to have in cars and bags just in case.

I highly recommend getting these if you’re struggling with latching!! I was beating myself up for not being able to successfully breastfeed with my little boy, and I was at a loss for what to do. I had seen lactation consultants multiple times, tried several feeding positions, tried using a latch assist, and attempted to breast feed multiple times a day to no avail. It was devastating and I was upset that me and my little guy couldn’t connect and make breastfeeding work. I ordered these nipple shields as a last resort, and I am soooo happy and relieved that I did. He immediately took to the nipple shields and feeding was working within seconds. It helped regulate the speed of milk flow and also the thin plastic nipple was familiar to him, because he had gotten so used to bottle feedings after so many failed attempts to breast feed. I’m so grateful for this product! 😭❤️

I wanted so bad to nurse my first baby, and I didn’t know about these. He had an awful latch, which meant I had to pump. I couldn’t keep up with that which ended up with me drying up. Broke my heart.

My girl also has a hard time latching and these have made nursing possible, which is amazing. They are easy to clean and I love that they come with a little case to put them in. I bought an extra pack for night time feeds and in case we have to go anywhere and 2 may not be enough. My only problem with these is how easy it is for them to fall off. If my baby is rooting hard or feels it with her hand first, it comes straight off. It also leaks pretty bad around the edges, so if I don’t wedge a burp cloth between my breast and baby, we end up with milk all over us.

Ultimately though, this is what is keeping me able to breastfeed my baby, so it’s 100% worth it.

I’m not usually one to write reviews on here, but these things are amazing. I was dealing with very damaged, chapped, tender nipples for the first week of breastfeeding and almost threw in the towel. My LO has a good latch but likely had a few bad ones while in the hospital after birth. I tried many nipple creams, cooling pads, etc and nothing was working to heal my nipples. My sister in law recommended trying these shields while feeding and they worked WONDERS. I will say feedings were longer with the shields since the baby has to work a little harder for the milk but the pain relief was worth it. Had hardly any pain during feedings with them and wore them consistently for two days while my nipples healed. After a couple days, I was able to return to breastfeeding without them and without pain. For mommas who are getting discouraged from the pain/tenderness during breastfeeding, please try these. They will save your breastfeeding journey as they did mine!
