    The first thing you need to know is the SimpliSafe SmartLock does not come with the deadbolt - it’s built to use the existing one. In my case I was moving an older keypad/deadbolt to my back door so I didn’t have a replacement that I wanted to use. There is no physical connection on the front of the door, so I am buying a deadbolt to match my door color.The second thing to be aware of is that the product comes with a yellow paper that states your SimpliSafe keypad must be at 2.5 or higher. My keypad was at 2.12 and was showing “up to date” so I had to contact tech support. I found out SimpliSafe changed their numbering from a 2 digit scheme to 3 digit SO my version was the newest. My suggestion- ignore the yellow paper and just inside your version is updated to the latest before installing.Last, I did notice the top of the large mechanism that controls the deadbolt moved a little when it’s in use. I may need to tighten but I put some 2-sided tape to help prevent it.I really like the options you have in the app once it is installed. You can set it up to automatically lock when you are in Home mode and/or away mode or even anytime the door is closed (when paired with a door sensor.)

    I have SimpliSafe security and love how this lock integrates with the system. For such a reasonable monthly price you get a lot more than you would with other alarms. This lock is a great addition to the system. I love that you don’t have to change deadbolts and you can still use your key if you want. The lock simply replaces the thumbturn and makes it a robot. A stick on key pad outside the door allows you to lock and unlock the door. If you have your alarm set the alarm can be turned off when you unlock the door with a passcode from the outside. You can set the lock to lock if it’s been unlocked for a certain amount of time. I love being able to see that the front door is locked and the system is secured all in one app.

    I started a few years back with the security system and upgraded when they came out with the door lock. The best thin I have done in awhile.
    I have three of these ; front, back and shop door. I like the ability set the one lock to open when the alarm turns off and the others stay locked. My shop is alarmed but out of sight unless I am our back so having the ability to keep it locked when I enter the house is a plus for me. I may not go out there for a day or two so it stays locked even though the alarm is disarmed.
    Pros. Well built
    Reliable
    No more keys
    Relatively long battery life
    Cons. The cover over the battery is not secure and falls of, ( not often though)
    The shop lock works from my phone, and keypad but will not work from the base station although the base
    recognizes the the lock and tells me it isn't working properly, it will not lock or unlock it.

    All in all I like the whole package. I pull up to the house, disarm the alarm and the doors unlock automatically and i walk in. great if your hand are full or bad weather.
    I would recommend these to everyone.

    One thing that I don't like is the small, hard-to-read numbers and names on the keys. But I really appreciate that it has a dusk-to-dawn feature combined with a motion sensor that causes the keys to light up so I can read them in the dark of night whenever I come home late. Placing my hand near the keypad in very low level light turns on the pad's lighted keys, and they are very easy to read when lit.

    The lock is wirelessly connected to my SimpliSafe base station, so it is thereby connected to my wifi and the Internet. So, the lock can be controlled from anywhere by my iPhone app. Contractors and guests can be let in at any time, and temporary access codes can be assigned or changed remotely

    There is a complete electronic log of every change to the lock's status, including the exact time of a power failure or power recovery. During long trips away from home, the power notes are handy for questioning the probable effect of any power outage upon food in the fridge and deep freeze.

    This lock is very nice although you need another component for this to work. You need either the remote control or the home center. Each one of those things are another 100 dollars but you cannot program a code without it. Although, if you have the other component this lock is fairly easy to install and looks awesome

    This is my second least favorite piece of the simplisafe ecosystem, with their cameras being the worst. I absolutely hate that when you disable from Home mode, this doesn't automatically unlock. It should. But worse, is that the manual interior hardware requires slight nuance to get it to open. It's not obstructed, it's like you have to attempt to turn it at least once, where it refuses to budge, then maybe a few more times, before it finally slides right over. It's definitely an issue in the lock itself. Installation was decent, but it still feels kinda cheap on the door, where it's too easy for it to rotate; they really need an additional mount point on the bottom of the handle to keep it in place solidly. For the price, it's not too bad, but it's definitely not great, per the reasons stated.

    I wanted a front door lock and looked at numerous alternatives. I eventually chose this one because it does what I need and integrates with my existing SimpliSafe security system. I like the option that it automatically locks the door when I set the alarm. I like the feature that after manually unlocking the door, there are options as to how long a delay before it automatically relocks itself. I find it useful that using the entry code also disarms the security system without having to go to the keypad which is at the garage door. Installation and integration instructions were good. Installation was simple and took about 15 minutes.
