I originally seen this at PAX a couple years ago, the software for game integration has improved so much over the last two years. Best software on the market for smart lights by far.
Lighting is set to arctic aurora one of the pre sets that comes witb the app.
What can I say about hue other than they are the best smart lite provider on the market in every terms.
There lights are extremely durable, I've got 9 of the smart light bulbs around the house had them for over two years and none are even slightly damaged. Work exactly as they did out of the box two years ago and I expect the same results with these light bars I bought recently.
The software integration is great, syncs up with Google home, the hue apps and pc perfectly. Can use hues software or Razer have integrated hue into Synapse.
I prefer the hue app it's the most user friendly, but if you feel like going further then options are unlimited when you get into IFTT. My friends house turns purple when the international space station crosses over his house, but this is manually set up through third party software. As long as you just want cool lighting effects or normal routines you'll he fine with the hue app, just worth knowing you can take it further if you can code.
Mood wise these are big for 2/3 of the people that live here, the other 1/3 just enjoys the smart features and doesn't play around with the colors.
Overall these are a great product mounting was super easy one screw and some double sided tape provided. High quality 3M tape doesn't look like it will damage furniture won't know until I remove it. More than capable of mounting light under desk with the tape provided.
Took about 5 minutes to set this up which was mostly organizing cables. In terms of just getting these on and working id say 60 seconds to take out of box and plug in, 45 secs to go to app store and download hue app. 15 seconds to walk to your bridge and press the button. At that point irs synced up with your hue apps and your done. Not many smart lighting solutions have the ease of use and setup, the vast feature set and insane durability that you get with this brand.
It's far more expensive than the competition but if you want a product that has easy setup, super user friendly UI that has been constantly improved upon over the years I've used this brand and a product you won't be replacing every year or two turn you've found your answer. Pay the extra money and go with hue and if you can, wait for a sale. They come often.
Can only speak for its integration with Google home, haven't tried Alexa.
