So I didn't want to post a review until I got to see how it fared over time (esp for highly corrosive marine environments).
Good news: After 3.5 yrs, it still looks & works like when it was new! It's constructed well and uses quality marine grade stainless (sometimes they say "stainless", but its the lower grade steel that rusts & falls apart).
Would ABSOLUTELY buy this again!

These work as intended, but the overall design of the latch in general just kind of sucks. (This is not the sellers fault.) If you close the lid with the latch in the wrong position, the catch bends and then no longer works until you bend it back with pliers. On a boat full of kids and women who don't know any better, this happens multiple times every trip out. It is just a matter of time until the latch gets work-hardened and breaks.

If you are buying to lock a cabinet don't bother. Small weak tab arm that wouldn't keep anyone from pulling latch open.
