Lost filter cap, bought a whole new aeropress. Still happy!
So, first things first, I bought my first aeropress back in 2006. And was using it (while traveling) until late 2019 when I misplaced the filter cap. This spring, I finally broke down and bought another set (with a travel bag).I'm pleased to say the product is as good as ever. But want to make a couple observations...1. You can buy a filter cap from the aeropress store online (if it was open — it's not due to covid). You don't have to replace the whole thing. You can also find them at higher prices on an auction site. But you'll still need to wait weeks for delivery.2. I bought the one with the travel bag this time. And if I were to do it again, I'd save a few dollars and skip the bag. It's just a super cheap nylon bag. Which would suffice. But it's also small enough that it doesn't make packing everything into it very easy. If it was just a little larger, it would be more practical. But, unlike the aeropress, it is also made of super cheap materials. I wouldn't count on it to hold up to much wear and tear.But the aeropress? It's amazing. And I will forever be a fan. Just wish the online store was open. Or else I would've just replaced the filter cap. But hey, when it opens, I will. And then I'll have a backup aeropress.
