I've been meaning to buy a quality laminator for years. However, I wanted to get the cold lamination feature on it and that wasn't available with the less expensive thermal laminators sold. That's why it's great to find out with this machine you get the benefit of both systems. I have many old newspaper obituary and wedding picture clippings I will only trust with the cold lamination feature to preserve. I was always afraid of damaging them including my old B/W pictures in a simple hot thermal laminator. The first thing I did when this machine arrived was to go ahead and try out the cold lamination feature. I bought separate self adhesive cold laminating pouches specifically intended for that purpose. The instructions were easy to follow in the manual provided (see pic) I simply waited for the green light to turn on and inserted my document. It turned out just great. Granted it allowed for me to do what I could've normally done by hand using a ruler or say a credit card but a lot more professionally. The separate machine roller provides a perfect 360 degree equal pressure application all the way around versus me doing it manually by hand. I don't have to risk getting any bubbles or having a misalignment of the pouch and destroying an irreplaceable family heirloom. The cold lamination system roller is a real deal clincher. This is not forgetting to mention the Quick and Easy setup time of just 5 minutes to start using the system. It's compact size of 9 inches fits very well in my smaller home office space. I didn't want to have be hiding the machine away in a drawer each and every time I finished using it. Only just to find myself having to take it out later for another project I suddenly thought of the next day. Having a laminating machine that's white in color from the front also didn't clash with my newly remodeled office decorum either (see pic). This laminator fit this home decorator's style perfectly. Free extras also matter to me in any purchase. I'm impressed that the laminator came with 30 sample laminating pouches instead of just 20 like the other guys out there were offering. The accurate warm up time of 2 minutes is also really fast. Paying more money for a competitor's machine just to shave 1 minute off the start up time just seems to me utterly ridiculous. Most of the other machines out there in this item's price range require at least a 5 minute wait even though they advertise they warm up so much quicker. Many also don't offer a 2 roller system. I especially like the fact that HOPVISION offers an additional discount off their already low price given online when you make the purchase through Amazon. Nowadays every little bit of a savings you can find out there really makes a difference. The corner rounder at first I thought was missing but I found it in one of the protective end foam packings. It's stored inside the foam so it's very easy to miss it (see pic). Make sure you check there before you hastily throw them out. One of the best features I like on this machine is the ABS switch located on the back (see pic). If you're experiencing a jam you simply flip the switch and your system shuts off immediately. The jam error statistic of just 0.1% with this laminator also ranks among the best in the industry. Hands down this is a great product for home and office use. I also feel protected knowing that it comes with a full 12 month warranty. I've used it so far to preserve paper contracts, post card memorabilia , baseball cards, commemorative stamps, cherished handmade birthday cards, recipes, autographs. business cards, family recipes, children's construction paper made school art, school report cards, collectable match book covers, award certificates .
