I watched several reviews on YouTube, and I saw a lot of positive reviews, and a couple negative here and there- some people say they’re great, a cheaper alternative to prismas and fabercastell, and I can tell you, yes ! They’re really amazing !
Now, my complete thoughts for serious Artists to hobbyists.
They are wax based, so they can’t build as much as oil based pencils like polychromos, but they blended so smoothly, and have the perfect pigmentation so waxbloom isn’t a real issue at all-
I compared the about of wax bloom with my prismas (also wax based) and no where near the amount of wax pile up, if any.
Also because they build and blend so well together, you may not even need to use a fixative or paint thinner to blend them- they practically blend themselves out!
I created two pieces already, working on my third, and I love love love them!
The bird I used paint thinner to blend and the owl I didn’t ! You almost don’t need any !
My only real negatives - they’re not as pigmented as prismas- the black pencil is a little less impressive as a black, so I’ll need to keep my prisma in that area-
But they build well so if you want more control and don’t want a blast of color at once, these are great!
Another thing is this pack of pencils (48 pack -and 72 pack) lack neutral shades- they’re mostly brights and vibrant, which is great but as a professional artist I appreciate as many nuetrals as possible -
And as of right now Arteza doesn’t sale or pencils individually so you’ll have to buy the whole set again- no big deal - they’re amazing and worth the repurchase! I do hope though they sale them separate in the future so you can save some money - or not lol if you use pencils up fast. Anyway lol they’re amazing !

So, I’ve used and own several brands of colored pencils, I’m not a professional artist.
Although something went terribly wrong on my order and it took a long time to arrive originally was to arrive on 4th but arrived on evening of the 7th.. being a prime item and was promised delivery on 4th- that did bother me & chat was zero help.
I want to specify Amazon chat not arteza.
So shipping issues need to be approved on.
ON THE PRODUCT NOW:)
Worth the purchase-but price is a bit inflated in my opinion.
Arteza should rethink this increase on price.
Myself -if it continues to increase as it currently has been I won’t buy again.
I’m partial to PRISMA, however,
These are softer than most other WAX pencils on the market other than PRISMA premier. Thus giving Arteza an edge above others on sheerness and layering ability.
These are quality I will give 5 stars on that.
I noticed that some of the darker colors do tend to be harder leads and thus blending the darker ones lessens.
They are a smoother lay down than other comparable brands.
DO NOT confuse these with oil based or watercolor pencils as those are different and lay down differently. Arteza has watercolor pencils as well. Make sure you order correct as I have made that error 😂
These are wax based.
I’ve compared several brands to these and these are more like PRISMA than other brands.
If I were comparing these wax based to an oil based pencil, Castle arts oil based run a close second in smoothness.. for an oil base brand.
Anyhow, back to Arteza 😍
The blunting of the tips I think is to prevent breaking during shipping so you’ll want to hone the tips by using them or a quick mini turn in a sharpener will remedy it.
I had no issue using my hand sharpener to do it, only
Took one turn to achieve a point.
These are harder leads BUT SOFT LET ME BE CLEAR THESE ARE VERY NICE CREAMY PENCILS and less breaking is a good quality on any pencil.
So all In all these are worth the purchase for quality, blending and color ability.
The colors are PHENOMENAL I love they differ in all aspects as they add more choices to my collection. So, you will be happy with these...
Price point I’d definitely say is good but the recent increases has me a bit cranky.. I’d rate these around a 50-60.00 dollar USD for the 120 set. 80.00 seems a tad HIGH.
But I’m not judging just one person’s opinion 😍
You can’t go wrong purchasing these though, any artist expert or beginner would find these workable and desirable.
I tried to purchase the 120 set as it was prime item and delivery was next day, however once order was placed it said it would be 5 days so that upset me and I cancelled it because that shouldn’t be happening on prime delivery items.
I was very dissatisfied with that aspect and I couldn’t get a straight answer from Amazon.
As I won’t let that reflect my product option 😎
That issue shouldn’t really be sellers fault, I was bummed that I wasn’t able to get my 120 set as promised right now. But maybe I’ll try again in the future because these are EXCELLENT pencils.
So if you need them ASAP ask about arrival time from Amazon I’m not sure if it’s due to holidays but it was upsetting I ordered them specifically because I was getting next day PRIME delivery And didn’t..
And it’s unfortunate there seems to be some discrepancy on shipping.

This is not something I would expect from a "expect" selection and it sucks.
TL;DR colours are nice to look at but if you actually want to get use out of your pencils I'd pass.

This is not something I would expect from a "expect" selection and it sucks.
TL;DR colours are nice to look at but if you actually want to get use out of your pencils I'd pass.
Bright pigments and sharpen to a fine point and great for blending.
Love, love, love
Now I want more colours as I only bought the 48 set.
I am only using these for colouring books.
Writing on the side of pencil is nice and big so it's easy to read.
Highly recommend, the shipping was fast!
But I would not call this "expert" nor a "professional" brand as this is clearly for marketing purposes as these colors are far more vibrant then your normal professional brands. The reason why is that filler pigments have the tendency to have more vibrant colors then oppose to natural pigments, there is a downside as quality control isn't the best in brands such as Arteza (as they mass produce their products without quality control like faber-castell or prismacolors).
However these DO work like a primsacolor or polychromos for a cheap price, if you want to practice your art skills or simply looking for a budget brand color pencil for adult coloring. I highly recommend these to hobbyist artists, however not professional artist looking to sell their artwork (unless scanning your work).
To those who complain about the pencils smudging on water or setting spray...well what do you expect? Filler pigment is chalk, so they ARE NOT WATERPROOF very much like Faber-castell classics they WILL fade if being hit by water or a fixative spray (that sticks the pigment to the paper to keep vibrancy).
If the packaging doesn't say WATERPROOF then most likely the color WILL fade overtime if hit with water or even using fixative spray. I am writing this as I am very well aware people who have bought this particular brand and have no knowledge of pigmentations.
Please be careful whilst purchasing your items, it's your responsibility to know what you're buying these are budget colored pencils meaning it's not 100% natural pigments. Prismacolors or Polychromos use high quality natural pigments thus the colors will be more neutral then oppose to vibrant.
Other then that Arteza is a very budget friendly brand, and it's great for people who really don't want to spend too much money on art supplies.
