Q: Why did the iPettie dryer stop working suddenly/ after a few uses?

The hairdryer will automatically power off when it's overheating, so it's recommended not to use the dryer for more than 30 minutes at a time.

To prolong the life of the motor, it is recommended that the lint build-up in the bottom filter be cleaned regularly.

Q: Can I take this home grooming dryer to a 220v country?

The Input Voltage of this dryer is AC 100-120V 60Hz, which comes with a US plug.

So you will need a voltage converter to use the hairdryer if you bring it to a country that is not adaptable to AC 110V.

I have to update my earlier review. I've had the dryer about 13 months and use it once or twice per month. I just went to use it and it stopped working. There is no way to troubleshoot this - it seems like the motor stopped working. The cord is fine and there are no batteries. The price is right so I will buy it again. Just a little disappointed it stopped working so soon.

This hair dryer is excellent for small dogs. I used it on two poodle mixes under 15 pounds. Easy to use, not too loud and temperature was not too hot. Makes brushing and drying hair much easier since it's all in one. Only suggestion is that it would be nice if the power cord was a little longer. Would buy this again.

Was looking forward to trying this out since trying to blow dry and brush at the same time is tough for a squirmy puppy... First order turned on as soon as I plugged it in even though the switch was set to off. Could hear a rattling sound for the broken piece inside. Maybe could have worked with it except it was stuck on the high setting, which is too hot if brushing as well, so requested a replacement. Second order received and doesn't turn on. Again, something rattling inside and so opened the filter on the bottom to find the piece of plastic that triggers the control had broken off. Can't use it, and giving up on trying a third time, especially if the main switch piece is a tiny piece of plastic that breaks easy.

EDIT: Customer Service was great and sent me a free replacement very fast that actually worked! Compared to the human blow dryer we'd been using up till now, this one is a bit more quiet and has lower heat settings, so my dogs don't mind it as much. They're a bit fidgety about using the brush part, but hopefully over time they will adjust and be ok with it. It does take longer to dry since it's a lower air pressure and smaller vent, but I don't mind since I have small dogs (6-12 lbs). I do wish that the cord was a bit longer, but product is as described.

Don't buy it. No pet will allow them to be dried by this loud gadget. It's almost as loud as a fairly powerful human hair dryer. It was a waste of money, and I can't return it because I waited too long to test it with my pets.

Also, it does a less than decent job drying out pet pelt. I used it on two short hair cats after I had already dried them as much as possible with a towel, and this gadget barely made a difference.

Okay, so I have an adult Pomeranian, we’ve had him for about 5 months and let me tell you, we ALL hate bath day. It’s no picnic for me, my SO, or my dog. It took about 3-4 hours from start to end with a bath taking maybe 30-45 min. Even after all those hours we would just get him to a damp undercoat and dry top coat and just settle and let him air dry the rest of the way. He hates my blow dryer and sadly he doesn’t like this product much better the sound level is about the same. HOWEVER, it takes much less time to dry, I don’t need two hands (1 for the hair dryer, the other for the brushes), and he became compliant after an hour. In total from bath to drying it took only TWO hours as opposed to FOUR (and still being damp). I do wish the cord were a little longer and the brush is kinda huge for a small dog so I have to hold it close to the head of the brush but it’s worth it. Usually after bath time even when we do it at the start of the day my SO and I feel wiped out afterwards for the rest of the day with the frustration, anxiety, and stress of the whole situation. After using this, we’re ready to go on with the rest of today!

They have been a pleasure to work with and the new hand dryer works fantastic! I love this dryer for puppies, cats and faces.

Ok so this is a decent as a pet hair dryer but it’s not awesome. First the good - I like the heat settings and that they aren’t too hot. And it is also a good size and easy to hold. Now the not so good. First of all, unless your pet has super short fur, the brush is useless!! The teeth are so close together and fine that it is impossible to use on anything but the shortest fur. Secondly, while the various heat options are great, the part you have to turn to change the heat, sucks! And I say this because you have to stop what you are doing and use two hands. This would be fine if your pet enjoys being dried and doesn’t try to run away or also ok if you have a helper with you. If it’s a solo mission, forget changing the heat. I really hope the next version has buttons or something that would allow you to change the settings with one hand. And finally, it’s louder than I had hoped. It’s not horrible but it’s comparable to my personal hair dryer. If it was quieter I think my pet would tolerate it longer.
