2022: These are still my “go to” picks for guitar (large triangle), mandolin (small triangle). I like to custom round (blunt and bevel) one corner on both size picks. That gives me a choice between bright tone (pointed tip) or warm tone (rounded tip) without changing picks (very similar to the pick brand that has three radii on the same pick). Pointy and thin gives a brighter tone, rounder and thicker gives a warmer tone.

These picks are the perfect median. Easy to hold and control but still have that bite of a thinner pick!
So, my choices are limited which forces me to pay a high price for something that is only about 5 cents worth of plastic at most.
But hey, it’s the world I live in. Life isn’t always easy but it sure is better than the alternative, at least that is what I’ve been told.

Restons sérieux, j'aurais pensé qu'il suffisait d'utiliser les médiators pour les "polir", mais cette affirmation permet de justifier le tarif de 5 €uros par médiators, ceci-dit il faut reconnaître qu'il est donné par rapport à d'autres médiators très réputés et 10 fois plus coûteux.
Ceci dit, dans mes essais je n'ai pas tenu compte du tarif, je cherche seulement des médiators qui me comblent pour jouer sur mandolines.
Celui-ci, de forme triangulaire mais un peu plus petit que d'autres avec cette forme, de 1.3 mm d'épaisseur, tient bien dans mes doigts et me permet de jouer vite sans que quelques notes disparaissent on ne sait où, le son est assez neutre et satisfaisant et le volume restitué est correct.
Finalement c'est le troisième médiator qui pourrait me convenir sur mandoline, j'en attend quelques autres, mais sans grand espoir de trouver mieux que ceux déjà retenus.
Ce Dunlop Primetone ne m'a posé aucun problème d'adaptation et va rejoindre ma boîte à accessoires mandolines. Pour le moment j'arrête mes essais de médiators, j'affinerai certainement lorsque je me serai fixé sur mes choix de cordes et que les réglages de mes mandolines seront affinés à mon goût, mais pour le moment je suis satisfait de mes choix.
Un médiator qui devrait convenir à de nombreux utilisateurs de mandoline et qui mérite d'être essayé …
