- FOR SCIENTISTS & SERIOUS GROWERS - Designed by world-renowned crop physiologist, Bruce Bugbee, PhD, the MQ-610 ePAR meter is the first in its class among leading scientists and serious growers for accurately measuring the new extended photosynthetically active radiation (ePAR) from 400 to 750 nm for all light sources. Package includes an AM-310 telescopic sensor wand that extends up to 33 inches for measuring hard-to-reach places and a neoprene carrying case.
- NEW ePAR RANGE - Laboratory-grade measurement of the newly defined 400-750 nm ePAR has been found to be photosynthetically active beyond the traditional 400-700 nm (PAR). Much of the transformative work to define the ePAR range was conducted by Dr. Shuyang Zhen and Dr. Bruce Bugbee. The MQ-610 can accurately measure far-red photons (700-750 nm), found in many next-generation LED fixtures, the sun, and other light sources, which cannot be measured by traditional PAR meters.
- QUALITY ePAR METER - Unlike cheaper LUX or footcandle sensors which are sometimes marketed as grow light meters, but are meant for measuring light for human vision, our meters feature a laboratory-grade ePPFD (extended photosynthetic photon flux density)optical detector precisely calibrated to measure the light intensity in µmol m-2 s-1 of the specific color wavelengths (including far-red) emitted by LEDs, HPS, MH, sunlight, and other light sources utilized by plants for photosynthesis.
- EXTREMELY ACCURATE & STABLE - Precisely measures and combines the intensity of all photons between 400 and 750 nm to give a single ePAR reading in µmol m-2 s-1 within 5 % uncertainty. Our ePAR meter has a stable, accurate calibration with an accuracy drift rate of less than 2% per year.
- RUGGED & EASY TO USE - The sensor head is machined aluminum and potted solid with epoxy for years of use in harsh environments, including underwater. The handheld meter is attached by a cable and displays real-time readings, records samples, and logs average intensity and daily light integral (DLI) measurements. Unlike the sensor head, the handheld meter is not waterproof.

When using this meter not only does it exceed and displays the difference from meters that don’t read far red, it reads consistent numbers showing it’s performance verification is accurate in that given specifics based on distance and light setting. The one drawback is price, it’s on the high side for what seems like an over account for R&D of this product.

I’ve had the Apogee MQ-610 for about two weeks now and have used it several times. Changed my plants to flower about 3 weeks ago and have been moving my light up every couple of days using the meter. I can attest to the fact that this meter gives me much more confidence in the light distribution top to bottom of my plants. I was very pleased with the quick readings (instantaneous) which makes the meter a breeze to use. I am very pleased with my purchase and can recommend the MQ-610 to anyone requiring a quality PAR Meter.

I finally upgraded and got a couple Apogee par meters and they're living up to the hype so far. I bought an mq-500 and mq-610 Epar cause I'm running spyder and iluminar "beyond-par" fixtures for my grow. First impressions are the sensors are built like a tank and I'm getting super tight readings to my spectroradiometer. My old par meter was way off. I especially like the fact the epar picks up the far red in my Iluminar. I might post again later but so far I'm happy with the investment.

I ordered the PAR meter "combo" that was supposed to come with the telescopic wand. The meter arrived and functions properly, but the wand was not in the box. It was not packaged separately either. Just poor quality control.

Excellent product. Came fast. Price is to high and they send it in a cheap bag. For $600 I think I should be receiving it in a hard storage case.
