If you're looking for a plastic-free, glass water bottle, look no further. This is a FANTASTIC bottle. It is heavy, but that's to be expected since the body is made from a thick, durable glass. The lid and straw are made from silicone, so I don't worry about plastic leaching over the years.
This fits in my car cup holder nicely.
If I turn it upside-down with the straw flipped open and shake it, no water comes out. It's nearly spill-proof.
For those who say that theirs shattered, I'm gonna guess that they are
a) Xena the Warrior Princess;
b) Hercules;
c) don't know their own strength.
This bottle is durable. I can throw it in my car or drop it on the ground without worrying about it. It's not fragile.
Sucking through the straw is pretty easy. You aren't limited to like 3-4 sips like some other bottles, and you don't have to suck hard. But it is a little loud, and when you take your mouth off, it makes a fairly loud release noise.
I figured out that if I push my finger down on the little plastic circle (air vent) while I'm sucking, the noise goes away and it's basically silent.
