Lift the toilet seat. To remove cap, squeeze the two textured side surfaces and unscrew completely. Tip the bottle to fill the neck. To remove limescale and rust, coat the bowl and allow to sit for 15 minutes. In cases of very tough limescale and/or rust, re-apply and leave overnight. Brush the entire bowl and flush. Replace cap and close tightly until an audible click is heard. I live in AZ and have very hard water, and limescale is a problem. When I used this the first time, it was miraculous. This product works well. However, it contains hydrochloric acid. That may not be safe for all septic systems. They need to make this ingredient more obvious.

Some people claim if it is diluted with water, it will not harm a sand mound septic system.

An internet search states: "Many commercial toilet-bowl cleaners contain bleach and some even use hydrochloric acid. While the acid does effectively dissolve the calcium carbonate deposits in the water, it is also a harmful chemical that will kill off the bacteria in your septic system."

Still, I use it everyday. So am looking for a more septic safe product.

Had stubborn yellow stains at the bottom of our toilet bowl. At different times I tried backing soda and vinegar, bleach, scrubbing vigorously and nothing. I used to use this religiously. Because it was cheaper than other similar products. In 2 months it's gone uo THREE dollars per bottle. So I will no longer be purchasing and will be purchasing higher quality brands at the same price where I can get them locally (I only bought these on Amazon since stores stopped keeping them in stock) they went from 1.99 to 3.99 in 2 months! What a joke. Since you need to use quote a bit to fully coat the bowl. It's different than a spray which lasts for a long time.
