A Cup of Autumn (Silver Falls Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,459 ratings

He thought he had the perfect plan…

When elite university professor Keaton Andrews walks into a meeting with the dean, he expects to hear that his tenure application is on track. Instead, his beloved department is cut. Regrouping in Silver Falls with family seems like his best option. One morning, he takes a risk and orders a pumpkin spice latte from the beautiful barista at the local coffee shop. Too bad she doesn’t seem to find him nearly as intriguing as he finds her…

Raine Hanover is no longer swayed by a charming smile, especially by a nerdy—and distractingly handsome—academic. She’s taking a break from romance and focusing on running her increasingly busy coffee shop. But when Raine is involuntarily put in charge of organizing the town’s Halloween bash, Keaton jumps in to help, and it’s not long before sparks, and kisses, fly.

As the leaves begin to fall, Raine wonders if she should risk taking another chance on happily ever after, especially with a man who has dreams and goals so far away from Silver Falls and her.

Sweet, small town charm

Sweet, small town charm
This sweet, clean romance is an opposites attract story. Raine owns a coffee shop in Silver Falls and is overworked and understaffed. At the worst moment, she has another task dropped on her, now she has to find time to organize the Boo Fest, an annual Halloween festival. She doesn’t know how she will manage running her shop and planning a festival and this causes even more stress for her. That’s when Keaton, who recently lost his teaching job, and came to Silver Falls to spend time with his family, steps up and offers to help with the event planning. As Raine and Keaton work together, they start to fall for each other. The problem is, Keaton is only in town temporarily and Raine will not do a long distance relationship. The last one only caused her heartbreak.I enjoyed reading about Raine and Keaton and seeing how they finally get their happily ever after. I enjoyed the small town feel of the book. The other characters were also fun to catch up with as I read the previous books in the series.

I loved this book. It was well edited, realistic and fun to read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!

The covers of this book give nothing away as to the story inside. I wish we had a better description of the characters so it would be easier to imagine them, but I do feel like I know the best part of them as I am reading this. Omg, so many autumn coffee drinks are mentioned in this book that I’m drooling. This later-in-life autumn and holiday romance has all the seasonal vibes and beverages, so many good ways to have pumpkin spice are mentioned. I loved that the story is mature, clean, wholesome, and surprising, with the romance being very subtle. The lively, vibrant Raine and Professor Keaton make endearing opposites. This book was a sweet read with a feel-good ending.

This book is part of The Silver Falls Series but can be read as a stand-alone. Raine is a small business owner of a small-town Coffee Shop. She is a hard worker who doesn’t have time for anything else. Her small-town life has some woes, but they seem not to be the end of all her issues. I do love that she is stubborn, determined, and mature.

Keaton is a teacher at a University but is still awaiting to become a Professor. Keaton doesn’t like change; he has plans and sticks to them, even putting off his life for his career. Unfortunately, he gets suckered in by his matchmaking Aunt into helping with a small-town festival. He can’t seem to say no to family. But it is good as he arrives in the small town of Silver Falls and rediscovers himself.

This book gives a nice sneak peek into the work of putting on a small-town event. I love that this academic man gets roped in to help with a Boo Bash for the business association. I like the author isn’t adding unnecessary drama but instead focusing on tasks and details for the event and the difficulties involved.

Damn, adult problems interfere with the love and relationship budding in this small town, and Keaton must make a choice. Unfortunately, I don’t think he chooses correctly. Still, I understand his decision, and Raine, heartbroken, accepts and encourages it. Ah, Keaton finally realizes that what he wants isn’t what he needs; that was right in front of him. I love how this book ended.

Looking for a delightfully fun, sweet fall romance read? Look no further than A Cup of Autumn by Melissa McClone, the standalone third book in her Silver Falls series.

This story was everything I didn’t know I needed. With an overworked coffee shop owner and a loveable yet snobby college professor, A Cup of Autumn put a smile on my face and had me ordering my first-ever fall drink. It was hard not to fall in love with the main and secondary characters, who all burrowed themselves into my heart.

Raine Hanover is the owner of Tea Leaves and Coffee Beans. She’s living her dream of owning her own coffee shop but is too tired to truly enjoy its success. Business is booming but she’s in desperate need of employees to even out the workload. Unfortunately for her, she has just been selected to run this year’s Boo Bash by the First Avenue Business Association and they have strict rules and penalties for failing to carry out a task once named to do so.

Keaton Andrews’ life is on track. He’s an assistant professor of Scandinavian Studies at a tier-one university. He just needs to bide his time until he becomes a tenured professor. But due to budget cuts, he now finds himself without a job and low prospects. He decides to spend some time with his siblings in Silver Falls, Washington, while he awaits any job opportunity that he feels will get his life back on track.

Margot, his brother-in-law’s aunt, offers to let Keaton stay with her, while he’s in Silver Falls. Too bad for Keaton, he has no idea that Margot loves to play matchmaker and has her eyes set on fixing him up with Raine. Convinced to work together on the Boo Bash, Raine and Keaton slowly find themselves drawn to each other. But how much of a future can the two really have when Raine has finally found a place to call home in Silver Falls, and Keaton’s dream job is potentially on the other side of the country?

A Cup of Autumn is a small town, opposites attract story that you will most definitely fall in love with.

Adorable, sweet, slow burn. But no spice. The ending left me going WTF at the super abrupt 0-to-100 life choices. I get it, it’s cute but…WTF. I guess that’s why they call it fiction!

A Cup of Autumn is the first book I have read from this author and I have to say I love her warm, sweet, clean writing style. As the air is starting to chill at home, it was the beautiful cover that drew me to this story and I'm glad it did.

It's a charming story of Raine, the owner of Tea Leaves and Coffee Beans, and assistant professor Keaton Andrews who lost his dream of being a tenured full professor at his tier one university. They develop a wonderful relationship while working on the Halloween Boo Bash community festival together. Both of them were so natural and cute with one another. It really is a sweet book that I enjoyed very much. Now it's definitely time for a pumpkin concoction for sure!

Keaton is a professor who meets Raine at a local coffee shop, shortly after losing his job at a prestigious university. He’s quite taken with her, but she has decided to stop trying to find romance for a bit. Since he has some free time, he helps her to organize the Boo Bash, and as they work together, some sparks begin to fly.

But what happens when he gets a job & has to leave town?

When Keaton came back to town, it was just perfect.

This was a nice, cute story to read.

Ok, i must admit to being biased. I love coffee and academia as well as close, loving friendships and family. This book put that, and more, together, so how could it miss? I especially enjoyed the understated romance. A really good week-ender read. The next book sounds good too.

Loved this seasonal read. Only thing missing was a bit of steamy content but this was a good cosy read without it. Would definitely recommend.
