Product Description
One advice for your purchase
You get what you pay for. A Toyota doesn't drive like a Ferrari, but drives you around.
Hantek 6022BE doesn't support AC coupling per se, which could be easily worked around by using a capacitor on the end of the scope. However, it works with many 3rd party applications, including Openhantek, H-scope, and Openscope. Since Hantek 6022BE is PC based, it is convenient to take screenshots right away and share scope software output in a video conference.
Refer to Standard Comparison Chart below for more Hantek test equipment. Besides, Hantek has made HDG6112B sig gen providing stimulus signals in the form of AW, Pulse Patterns, Modulation, Intentional Distortion, Noise and more for serious electrical experimentation.
Note:
1) It works with Android via Openscope or H-scope, and Linux via Openhantek;
2) It can run on OSX through virtual box or virtual machine;
3) Try basic scope software, which might be better than the original source code.
4) Go to Hantek's Website to get the latest the driver, in case of the Win10 digital signature issue.

After installing the software on a Windows 7 computer, the main program crashed and kept complaining about "mfc100u.dll". Then I tried the program on a Windows XP computer, the program worked fine.
I sent an email to Hantek support person. They replied and told me that the program was tested on Windows 7. Then I installed the program on a Chinese version Windows 7, the program does works. I suspected they did not test the program on English version Windows 7 (or windows 8). I tried software from CD and downloaded from their website, none of them worked on English version of Windows 7.
Another problem with the scope software is hard to scroll along X-axis. When using a trigger mode, software does not display the signal where a trigger event happens, rather it displays the middle section of total sampled data. The signal part you are interested is out of display area. There is no scroll bar to scroll to left/right to see different part of signals.
I also downloaded their API library and demo program. The demo C source code has programming bugs. Obviously, they did not even test the program. After fixing the programming bugs, I am finally able to call API from my C program to retrieve sampled data.
In summary, this is an entry level PC scope and can be used for basic tests. It would be more useful if they had provided a well written software.
Has an on-board 1k 2v square wave. Comes with two probes. The unit takes its power over USB, but there is an interesting option here. The USB cable is a Y-cable: USB b on one side, and two USB A (one red and one black) on the other side. I ignore the red USB A connector and provide power and a data channel through the black connector. Alternatively, I guess you can plug the red USB connector into some power source (a USB charger?) and get data through a low-power USB jack from the black connector. Pretty spiffy in my opinion, though I don't plan on using this option.

All in all at around 80 dollars Canadian the Hantek 6022BE is a great choice for beginners or if you are like me and your very old USB Scope just won't work. It arrived quickly and its accuracy is spot on! I highly recommend this Scope for people who have never bought a scope and are new to electronics!

The scope 'box' and probes and USB leads all appear sturdy and decently made, and survived well in the hands of 1st year engineering technicians. The software is finicky to install (go to the Hantek website for the latest versions, and drivers) but we developed a strict procedure and our students generally had no problems. The lower sample rate means that 10 MHz is about the practical upper limit for this scope - but lots of electronics runs in that range! If you need higher frequencies, buy one of the more expensive and capable Hantek scopes. Hantek started out making automotive system analysers, and that is still their strength - but their more expensive oscilloscopes are excellent. The 6022 BE is the baby of their line and, really, a 'loss-leader' at the price.
Three years on, we no longer have to loan these to with our students, unless they get sick - but many of our students are buying them for their home workshops.
I'd recommend this little scope to any first year electronics student, college or university, any electronics or Arduino tinkerer who wants a 'first oscilloscope', and any radio control or model railroad DCC enthusiast. If you work in higher frequencies, then you'll need a more capable, and expensive, Hantek than this one.
I have used many scopes and this one lacks AC coupling which is a critical feature fort Oscilloscopes. The software really sucks too.
