Editorial Reviews
The Killers' seventh studio album, Pressure Machine, is about the small town of Nephi, Utah where Brandon Flowers spent his youth. The songs are extremely personal and cover a spectrum of emotions in connection to growing up in a rural setting. One track, "Runaway Horses," features a collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers.

Maybe it's just me. I mean the writing seems really good - as usual. The musicianship seems top notch, which is what I expect from The Killers. The vocals, always great, seems to be here too. So what is that seems to be off? Maybe the chit chat at the start of some of the songs - making it appear to be part of a play - speaking and then going into the music? Possibly.
Anyway, I really do like this CD. And I have no problem recommending it to people.
All I can say is purchase it and see for yourself.
But Pressure Machine exceeds all the previous releases. Brandon Flowers as lyricist achieves what no one could guess he was capable of a few years ago. The production value is high and the sparse instrumentation highlights the musicianship the band possesses.
Bravo!
