Now you can shovel smarter, not harder to quickly and easily get snow out of your way. No more heavy lifting with a traditional shovel! No more aching back! Shovelution greatly reduces the effort, strain and potential injury involved in shoveling, using the powerful muscles of your upper body to do the lifting and throwing, and sending lifting leverage to the lower hand – to reduce back strain by up to 30%, so you can lift more, and throw farther. I loved it and even gifted one to my inlaws. However, after a few runs the handle broke turning it into a regular shovel. I wouldve given it a full 5 star rating... maybe mine was defective? I wanted to get another but the price jacked up and for its value now I dont think its worth it.
Update: they have a 1 year warranty. Snow joe easily replaced it. Updating my rating to 5 stars again.

I've tried pretty much every shovel type you can find at the big hardware stores plus a few random online ones that looked interesting. I unboxed this one and within a couple minutes realized it was probly gonna go in my collection of brand new shovels I've bought over the years, tried for 10min, realized how useless or annoying they were and haven't touched again.
Firstly I dont really like the blade shape with how flat it is compared to any shovel I've ever seen before - It seemed like was probly so it fit easily into a box to be sold online (there's not many other shovels on Amazon that arnt super overpriced stuff you can find at Home Depot though so can't judge them too much for that). It's clearly the width of a scooping type shovel, but the blade barely has as scoop compared to ones you can get in stores.
Secondly the Spring action part is super weird and so much less ergonomic or helpful than I'd hoped. I would love to be able to throw snow far sometimes, but this wasn't any improvement over my current go-to which is just a scoop shovel from a hardware store that either came with a secondary handle partway down the shovel or that I bought and attached a $10 Canadian Tire secondary handle to myself usually. The most annoying thing using this "spring assisted" shovel is that you kinda need to be holding the weird spring assist thing the whole time.. if you try to just hold it like a normal shovel ever then that handle will be flopping all over so that doesn't really work and is super annoying.
Lastly, I personally hate the metal wear strip on this shovel as well as the other ones ive tried. Idk what kind of perfectly smooth, flawless, newly poured concrete surfaces other people are shoveling.. but I have never found that to end up being anything except catching on everything constantly so you're jarring your joints every few steps because it's metal and doesn't slide well across concrete to begin with, and when there's a layer of snow hiding every little crack in the sidewalk it's hard to do anything smoothly and efficiently without getting frustrated. I know some people probly like metal wear strips, but I would recommend fiberglass or something other than metal if you want something that won't wear down ever and can also scrape everything to the concrete. My main shovels I treat as disposable and go through a couple per season just from wearing them down so much, but I've always thought that's the point, because if the shovel didn't give at all when you hit some hard resistance from a rock or a crack or some ice, then a lot of the time it would've just been youre body that's getting jarred to a stop if that makes any sense.
This would be a cool novelty/joke gift for some of my snow removal business owner friends, but if you're looking for something practical you'll get a ton of use out of (and especially if this is gonna be your only shovel) then I'd definitely recommend going something normal from Lowes, Home Depot, Canadian Tire etc. cuz that's probly what you'll end up doing anything after trying to use this one for a while.
(Nothing wrong with Snow Joe as a brand and I'm a big fan of some of their other stuff and in general its usually great, practical, really useful stuff that's affordable for homeowners)

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! If you're looking for a comfortable and efficient way to tackle snow removal, the Snow Joe Shovelution is a must-have. Just be aware of the potential learning curve with the spring handle and choose the blade size that best suits your needs.
This year up where I am in North East USA, we had fair amount of snow. Some that did not require any cleanup and some stuck around for weeks. This shovel worked great cleaning my 60' driveways with ease. I also have a traditional shovel, but honestly it gets hung up every so often on a slightest crack and jerks my entire body during the momentum.
The double handle is useful and helps you push/lift the snow away from snow mounds and the ergonomic design is good for not overstressing your body and back.
Snow Joe shows up, we get our spring storms, and there is a substantial difference in how I feel after digging out the cars. I don’t feel completely wrecked after flinging a couple of feet of wet, heavy snow around.
Man I’m sold.

I am in my seventies and never met a snow shovel that was as human friendly as this one. I shoveled about 300 square feet of snow averaging 16" thick this morning. about 15 cubic yards of snow pick-up and toss. It was a good work-out on the arms and shoulders but easy on the back.
Part of me said, if the second handle just got in the way, I could take it off.
We ended up getting several inches of wet heavy snow, so I got my first chance to try it out.
The second handle is amazing. It's way less effort to lift and throw snow. Especially when it's too heavy/wet to be able to push all the way across the driveway.
I had to stop halfway and throw a shovel full of wet snow across the driveway, and I was able to easily toss it well past the edge of the driveway from the center of the driveway. No way I'd be able to do that with a conventional shovel, at least not consistently and not for long.
