Despite the short length of this story, despite the amount of chemistry between Cole and Mia, despite the heat they generate when intimate, this is an incredibly detailed story. Their love story is shadowed by Cole's belief that Mia deserves better than him, and Mia's wealthy parents. One thing about Cole. Despite his belief about what Mia deserves, he is unrelenting in his pursuit of her. Not in the hardcore, caveman, alpha male way that seems to happen more often than not in stories lately, but in an unwillingness to let anyone else pursue her.

Which works in his favor because he's the only man Mia wants. Her parents might be overprotective and have no idea of boundaries, but Mia isn't a wilting heiress either. She has a job she loves that her parents despise, is best friends with a half-brother her parents tried to hide from her, and has moved out into the big bad world on her own to find her own ground to stand on. She is vulnerable because she's never done this before and it shows, especially when she withdraws into herself so no one else is hurt. With Cole, she learns that it's okay to let someone else help shoulder that hurt if it's someone she trusts.

Cole and Mia's story is overwhelmingly sweet and heartfelt. Ms. Wilde's characters are deep and complex. She makes their love story hot but slow. The burn between Cole and Mia gains strength as they get to know one another, and it's amazing to watch them fall deeper and deeper in love. What a beautiful love story, one I recommend not just for Christmas reading but whenever you want something hot but slow and lasting.

It was good Christmas story. I loved Cole. He was so sweetly possessive of Mia. I want someone like Cole. lol. And Mia... Well, she surprised me. I'm happy about it. Because most of the time when h has parents like that, h reactions be something you just want to slap them for it, when parents threatens H. But not Mia. While there was a minute, when I was worried but Mia was fierce and smart protecting not only Cole, but standing for herself.

I LOVED this story. It was a wonderful, safe holiday read. It creates this soft, sweet atmosphere; makes you want to read it by the light of Christmas tree while wrapped in a soft blanket drinking hot cider.

It starts out in the typical insta-love and I expected it to be purely insta-live, insta-hot, with a small plot and semi developed characters. I mean that is what these quick holiday, special story's are; fun, hot reads. This one was way more then that. There was the element of insta-love, but it bloomed into a slow burn romance, filled with sweetness, caring, personal growth, Christmas cheer, and feelings, lots of feelings. The characters were developed, detailed, careing, and wonderfully matched. I loved how tge story took place over months, rather then days; and how Cole realized Mia's shortcomings and romanced her accordingly. I also loved the contrast between the two, they both dealt with similar issues, just in differet ways, with different outcomes. I think tgat us what made their romance that much stronger. This is just a sweet, light, beautiful read. I loved the safe story.

Kati Wilde is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors, this is my 2nd book by her and I loved it. Dibs...I wanted to get that out of the way. A sexy dirty talking detective...yes please. Cole is recovering from a shooting, where he was injured. When he was laying there after the shooting, he remembers seeing an “angel” of a woman over him. A woman he wants to find.

Fast forward a few weeks and enter Mia, who happens to be the “angel” and also happens to have a huge crush on the detective...she’s in luck, because he has a pretty big crush on her too. He knows right away that he wants her forever. These two have so much chemistry, with his dirty talking, confident self and her sheltered, vulnerable self. I love that he pursues her and takes his time since he knows she’s innocent. For me, these two needed each other and went together perfectly.

Such a great safe read, with an epilogue, sexy dirty talking alpha, a hell of a lot of heat and an hea. Yes please....you’re welcome.

There’s not much to say on this beyond it’s a cute, romantic story. Cole and Mia become neighbours, despite the fact that Mia is living below her means. She’s a society girl who has decided to go it alone. Kind of. She’s relishing the chance to be independent and wants to learn to do things for herself; washing, cooking, cleaning, etc. Cole is just your average detective, living and working as best he can, until he’s put on the injured list.
