Excellent carrier with all the right improvements.
This ergo adapt cool air is an excellent ergonomically safe carrier for both mom and baby. This is my third ergo carrier actually that I used for two kids but I kept upgrading and this is the final carrier. It's got all the features I had hoped for and have learned are essential. Here they are: It keeps baby or toddlers legs in ergonomically w position to promote safe hip development, doesn't require an infant insert for when baby is very small (those were crazy hot in summer and cumbersome to lug around), is finally vented for summertime to keep baby cooler, adjustable head support with fashionable button adjusts, is adjustable at the bottom for baby (both inside the carrier with super secure Velcro straps and also outside with button closures at the pouch) to ensure it hits correctly at baby's thighs and that his buttocks and legs are given the right amount to support (the initial ergo was too wide for my son and I couldn't get his legs out even with their bottom padded insert),, these velcros are awesome and wash well and have not lost any of there effectiveness over time. you can loosen one strap and nurse baby in privacy without taking him out. Can use the good to cover as well. this carrier can be worn straight over the shoulder or crossed at the back, has excellent lumbar padding and support, can be worn front, side and back though I don't feel my body likes the side carry and my son is too young yet for the back carry as he couldn't see past the straps well yet (13 month old), a pouch for a waterproof hood (new as well), a zip pouch in front for the hood so can store a little in there too.there are little elastic bands attached to the fasteners and clips to offer a backup should anything become loose and also a way to roll up the long straps and keep it neat and out of the way. I'm very happy with this ergo but like with any new carrier you have to ease into wearing it and find the adjustments that are right for you. With my first carrier I felt I needed help getting into it but with practice or just watching the online videos you can feel much more confident about doing it yourself. I find It also helps to hold out the straps for the left and right sides in front of you once baby is in place to see if they are pulled the same amount. If one side is tighter it can throw you off and make it uncomfortable. Ergobaby also has great online videos and turorials. I highly recommend this carrier and love the new upgrades from the ergo adapt. I have the dark blue one which isn't the best color for summer (I would have gone with lighter color for less heat) but is this navy is beautiful and happily cool with the new mesh body. I do recommend getting the extra drool/chew straps that you can wrap on the carrier straps. (See the white pads in ome photo)That way you can just wash the pads instead of the whole carrier each time baby drools or chews like mine likes to do.
