Customers are mixed about the maneuverability of the camera support. Customers are dissatisfied with the alignment of the camera support. They mention that the camera sits a bit at an angle, the arm does not make a 90-degree angle between the platform and the camera, and the tilt knob sticks when tilting. The horizontal axis point is still not aligned with center of the lens. The mechanism is ok but they have a problem with the TILT mechanism. This gimbal head only provides horizontal panning and vertical tilt, and has a quality issue in which the mount is not properly centered inside of the bracket.

Getting this rig balanced on the GH700 was simple and reasonably quick; I dialed it in on my second adjustment attempt, and I made alignment marks on both the mounting plate that attaches to the tripod foot on the lens, and another mark on the baseplate the lens mounts to, to speed up remounting from one day to the next. The lens stays right where I put it, and most of the time I don't need to tighten either knob or lock it in place, unless it's windy.
I could have purchased the carbon-fiber version of this gimbal, but I wanted the extra weight for stability. My tripod has carbon-fiber legs and center post, and is light enough as it is. The carbon-fiber version of this gimbal (the GH800), I don't believe, would have provided the added weight I wanted, and believe me, this setup is ROCK SOLID! I also use a wireless shutter release, just to make sure that pressing the shutter does NOT induce any additional vibration or movement. Unless I inadvertently bump one of the tripod legs with my foot or knee, pictures come out tack sharp.
In case anyone is wondering what that 'thing' is between the tripod and the GH700, it's the rayfoto LP-68 Leveler, w/ three bubble levels. As I'm sure you can imagine, with the camera and lens mounted to the gimbal, adjusting the legs on the tripod could be a death (to the camera and lens) defying balancing act. One slip and CRUNCH! The leveler removes that risk and works like a champ.
Lastly, the price of the GH700 is EXTREMELY low, given the quality and smooth, precise functionality this gimbal provides. I would have gladly paid twice the cost, but luckily, I didn't need to. THANKS, Movo! You guys ROCK!

What it is:
A complete photographic gimbal head for a tripod for use for use with larger, heavier telephoto lenses. It helps balance the lens/camera combination at the center of gravity, NOT at the no parallax point.
What it is not:
A precision pano head, a video head, or a 3 axis head. This gimbal head only provides horizontal panning and vertical tilt. Rotation must be provided by a lens collar. This is also not a Sidekick style arm for a ball-head; rather it is a complete tripod head and you must have a tripod with a 3/8-16 mounting stud to use it.
The Good:
For the price, it's surprisingly smooth and seemingly sturdy. I would be perfectly happy using it with anything from a 70-200 f2.8 up to a 300mm f2.8 or 400mm f4 lens. Note that my hesitation to use larger/heavier glass with it is because I have not used anything much bigger, rather than doubts in my initial assessment of the head. I do intend to rent a 600mm f4 to try on this head in the future.
Most of the knobs are captive, and it gives every impression of being as close a clone of the Wimberly head as it can be for the price.
The Bad:
It is clearly not a Wimberly head. While the powder-coat on the J-arm appears to be very well applied, the rest of the metal is a high gloss anodized finish.
Due to the length of the Arca-Swiss style clamp, you will probably not be able to adequately balance anything lighter than a 70-200mm f2.8 or the Canon 300mm F4 IS if you are using a 5D3 w/ battery grip or heavier camera.
The one knob that is not captive controls pan friction. I discovered this after locking the head down to attach it to my tripod, then having the panning knob come off without loosening the pan. This was corrected by the liberal application of Permatex 24200 thread locker (blue Loctite would be acceptable as well).
The Ugly:
The high gloss finish has a significant blemish on the underside of the camera arm.

Pour les réglages (serrage-desserrage), il faut un peu jouer avec les molettes pour trouver la fluidité désirée mais ça n'a rien de bien contraignant. Reste à voir l'évolution à l'usage...
