About us
You don’t put on a pair of Danner boots to sit around the house. They’re made for adventure, exploration, and the hard work the men and women who wear them perform day in and day out.
For nearly a century, Danner has crafted boots with purpose and integrity - footwear to equip those who choose the unlikely path, those who cut fresh trails, those who pioneer.
Charles Danner came west to build the best boots loggers had ever known, an effort that resulted in a long-standing heritage brand with a renegade spirit. A spirit that proudly lives on in each pair of Danner boots we make to this day.
Charles Danner felt the pull to the wild of the Pacific Northwest, drawn by the promise of opportunity in the rugged unknown. He came with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and a deep respect for the uncompromising landscape. From the gleaming alpine lakes and the plummeting river gorges, to the thick forests and the sweeping coastlines, Danner boots are of this place.

Will order again, but with the ability to recraft them, that probably won't be for a long time!
Update!
Been wearing these boots for about 10 hours a day, 5 days a week now for awhile and they are holding up great! It is such a good feeling to be able to tromp through any puddle or muddy terrain and have your feet remain dry. I usually hose them off at work to keep them looking decent and my feet never get wet. I bought the Danner boot dressing and apply it twice a month and it seems to be helping. The way the tread is wearing, I'll probably have to send them off in about a year or so to get re-soled, but that's fine. I will NEVER wear another brand of boots again as long as Danner continues to make a quality, USA made product like these boots.
UPDATE!
Had these since 2014. Sent them to Danner for recrafting in 2018 and just look at those pictures. Unfortunately, the soles now are worn down and the leather is split in a few places so recrafting them a second time is out of the question. I just ordered a new pair and now that I'm a bit less active at work, I expect them to last about 5-6 years before I recraft them, then another 5-6 years before I replace them.
If you're buying these, make sure you get the Danner boot dressing that Amazon sells and use it every other week or so in order to keep the leather supple and pliable. I didn't do that as often as I should. Still, my original pair is now a pair to have as a backup at work.
Buy once, cry once... though I wish they were $230 now like they were back in 2014 when I bought my first pair.

These boots are not quite as comfortable and I have had more frequent issues with plantar fasciitis pain with this boot with or without the included insert than with other boots, but a custom made orthotic (or daily stretching if you KNOW you have this problem) should remedy this for anyone.
After over a year of continuous use, the Vibram soles show extremely little signs of any wear, only a very slight rounding at the heel is the only indication that they have seen any use at all.
Though the boots are quite heavy and so sturdy, the soles make them surprisingly quiet. It is very easy to walk nearly silently on any debris-free surface.
The Gortex works absolute wonders. I took these boots out to the California coast and spent several hours with my feet submerged with absolutely no water leakage. Obviously you want to make sure the leather properly dries out after getting soaked though.
The leather polishes up to a great shine. The hinge point of your toes is a little tricky to keep polished compared to your standard Air Force low quarters, but overall they shine great.
The sizing is a little on the large side, my 11.5 US size with thick Thorlo combat socks still has enough gap to cause my heels to get blistered over several miles of walking so I would encourage potential buyers to try them on first before buying. Silk liners may be all you need to insert if you run into this problem though.
Overall fantastic pair of boots, I will definitely buy another pair if these ever fail in my lifetime.
They are true to fit though. my toes have a bit of room to move and are not bunched up. I ordered a 12.
I don't think there is much in the arch support but I have flat feet so arches tend to hurt me more if they are more pronounce in a boot. overall these are an excellent pair and have lasted me quite a while.
I've wanted a pair of Danner's for quite some time. I have only worn them on shift four times and the boots are comfortable for being brand new and the thickness of the leather. I used neatsfoot oil on the boots before wearing them to help soften the leather just a little bit. Obviously they were stiff when wearing them the first time, but they are breaking in the more I wear them.
I spit shine the boots and the toe of the boots hold the shine really well. Plus it doesn't take much to put a shine on them either. I typically brush shine every where else. The instep of the boots are a little difficult to brush shine, so I have to hold the brush a little differently. Otherwise, they brush shine and spit shine really well and very easily.
The soles of the boots are quiet when walking on lenolium, tile or even the wood laminate floors (they don't squeak) and I have a heavy foot step so the soles of the boots make my footstep very quiet when completing building searches. I haven't run in the boots yet and don't know how they will react to running, but I'm certain they will be ok. The soles are wider than the boots because of the construction and if you're not careful about where you step, you may catch the sole on something. Otherwise they are an excellent pair of boots.
Plus, I can send them back to Danner to be reworked!
