I purchased two of the 2.5 gallon containers and also a 5 gallon from a different manufacturer. I bought them for a family of 5 for taking camping showers (also purchased a camping shower pop-up tent). These 2.5 gallon bags got plenty warm: sitting on the campsite picnic table on an 82 degree day got the water into the upper 90s. Depending on who was showering, a shower with hair wash was done from between 3/4 gallon (a parent) to 2 gallons (a teenager who said "oops, I forgot, it felt good"). When the first bag was empty, I unclipped it using the included handle clip feature and clipped the second bag onto my hanging rope loop. We had no problems with leaking from either bag. Overall they worked great, and if we get 10 showers (5 fills) out of a bag before it fails, then I will consider it good value, as that approaches the "per shower" cost similar to pay-showers I've seen at developed campgrounds.

I found handling and hanging 2.5 gallons (20 lbs) to be the most I would want to do, because of the awkwardness of the soft structure and lifting it over your head. The 5 gallon bag (completely different style and manufacturer and cheaper to purchase) did not get as warm, was harder to handle, and leaked.

Absolutely perfect for car camping. Just find a remote place off of a nature trail, hang the bag and have the most satisfying shower of your life. It is made with high-quality material, I have had no problems with leaking. The product works well heating up in the sun, or feel free to leave on the heated seat of your car with the black side down for a warm shower in a pinch. The 2 1/2 gallons was perfect for a five minute shower. The nozzle opens and closes easily and the carrying and hanging strap works great!

I've used this style of shower for years and there are two kinds of bag solar showers: those that work and those that don't. This one works and works well.

I've now owned this shower for nearly four years (note: mine doesn't have the same shape as the one in the pic, but is shaped like a square with the points pointing up and down and side to side) and it has worked great every time I've used it. It has not been pampered, babied or stored with particular care. It's never leaked and it's never stunk after good cleaning. The parts still work. The temperature gauge did peel off and I sort of wish the silver exterior were black instead to help it absorb better, but it is black on the inside and one panel is clear, so I turn it face down compared to the picture.

With care, two showers can be gotten out of a full 2.5 gallon bag. I find this holds true, for instance, when my brother and I camp together, but less so when I camp with my wife and daughters... Any one of them will go through the whole bag. Note: Always let them go first and refill it for yourself... if you go first, they curse you for their shampoo infested hair when the shower runs dry... moving on...

Solar showers never get as warm as I wish they did unless I am camping in hot weather. On a 70-degree day in the spring or fall with moderate sunlight, you can get your shower up to slightly above body temperature. That works for me. In cold weather, prepare to dry off fast. That's not a criticism of this shower specifically but of the style of shower. That said, I prefer a few minutes of having a cold chill and drying out in front of a camp fire to being filthy for days on end.

As solar showers go, this is a good one. It is durable and I like that the top strap has a detachable buckle to make hanging it easier. I've definitely gotten my money's worth and this is a quality product. If mine dies tomorrow, I've gotten plenty of use out of it to justify the cost and would buy another.

I was doubtful but still bought it based on reviews and was pleacently suprised when it did warmed the water, also the pressure the water coming out is good even when the water line is flat with the bag.
the system to open close the valve is not easy for one handed operation and gets more difucult with soapy hands, thats what I would improve but is usable and works.

I travel and camp full-time now that I'm retired. Love the built in thermometer that shows how hot the water is getting. It heats up water easily (1-3 hours) laid out on the hood of my SUV in the sun. (My SUV is black - not sure if that helps.) Be careful - over 104 degrees will feel scalding! I transfer it to lay on the roof of my SUV when I'm ready to wash my hair since there aren't always trees around to hang it from (like when I camp in the desert).

Since it's gravity fed, I use a folding step stool to sit on to keep me lower than the shower nozzle when fully extended. Water flow easily turns off by pushing in the shower nozzle or lifting it higher than the full extension level.

I have the 2.5 gallon to make it easier to handle when full of water, and recently bought a 2nd one to double my shower water. I have long hair down to my hips. The 2.5 gallon shower holds enough to wash/rinse/condition/rinse my long hair and still have enough for a quick rinse of my body. Bought the 2nd one so I could wash my hair a second time before conditioning (all biodegradable products), and take a longer more thorough shower if desired. Love this shower! It totally works for me!

I've never had a mold problem inside it. When finished, I keep the screw-on lid open and slide the nozzle and hose into the bag to keep it from compressing and allow airflow into the bag, so it can dry out over time. The lid is permanently attached to the bag so it doesn't get lost. The quick release on the handle allows me to attach it anywhere to keep it from sliding around when I drive. Highly recommend this shower!

i camp off grid, this is wonderful. heats up the water quickly on a hot day, you can hang it anywhere, great for a quick shower, or, hanging over wash basin, or just an ongoing source of warm/hot water, if the day is very sunny the water can become extremely hot so check first, has a little shower head on the end you just pull and have a nice stream of water, i highly recommend this for camping. easy to fill, has temperature gauge, good quality material and packs up small
