One of my number one pet peeves are women that lose themselves when a guy is involved, which is a strong reason Carrie Ann Ryan books are always my favorites - this never happens in hers....EVER. The women are born strong and stay strong, they keep their personality even when falling in love. I was super excited about this book because once again romance and tattoos, you really can't go wrong. Adrienne Montgomery is an amazing character from start to finish. She has been mentioned before in other books, so I am glad she got her one book in a spin off series. You can never have too many Montgomerys, I mean I am sure the family would disagree when there are so many people at their reunions, but still. It's not easy opening a tattoo shop, even more so when you feel that you have so much to live up to with the other Montgomery tattoo shop and other businesses. Then add in falling for your best friend, yeah no pressure. The story in this was great and sadly one that I know people in real life also experience with opening a new tattoo shop in places where some jerk doesn't think they should be. I love how the conflict in this made everyone stronger, but it also came with tears. A person can be strong and still cry. I think this gets lost a lot in life and in books, so I think this book showed it amazingly. Then there is Mace, I tell myself I won't fall in love with the guys in these books. I fail each time with these, I have a poly relationship with my book boyfriends. So far they seem to be okay with that ;). I adore Mace's daughter who is going to be a pistol growing up especially now that she has some more healthy addition of the Montgomery family. There are moments in this that will make you cry, just be prepared. I wasn't. I was reading at work and crying at my desk, thankfully I skipped the eye makeup that day. I am looking forward to the rest of this series.

It's really neat that each family member be they siblings or cousins get their own happy ever afters.
Adrienne and Shep get to open their own shop when a mysterious man threatens to shut them down and the shop is graffitied, the health department is called with complaints about sanitation, the police are called about drug dealing.
Adrienne and her best friend Mace Knight also expand their friendship into a relationship that almost ends and the mystery is solved when the man physically attacks Adrienne who fights back quite well. No worry about him having kids.

After a long wait, we're finally getting to see more of Shep's family. We met his sister Adrienne in Denver, but she's come home to Colorado Springs and Shep moved his family back home as well. That was lucky for us, because having run out of Denver Montgomerys, I, for one, wasn't ready to say goodbye to them.

Adrienne and Shep have, along with their Denver cousins, Austin and Maya, opened Montgomery Ink Too, or MIT, a Montgomery tattoo shop in Colorado Springs and in their new shop works Adrienne's best friend Mace. The chemistry between the two besties is apparent to everyone, except them apparently. From the beginning, I loved them as a couple, even though they weren't ... technically.

Add in Mace's adorable little girl, who gets dropped on him unexpectedly, and this single dad needs all the help he can get. I loved how his family and the Montgomerys rallied around him and helped him adjust.

When the best friends become friends with benefits, they, for some reason, try hard to keep the sex casual, as to not hurt each other, but of course that doesn't work for them and leads to some frustration with me, lol. I love them together and wanted them together for real, like stat.

Work life couldn't go smoothly either, as a mysterious man lets the Montgomerys know that their tattoo shop is not wanted in their upscale neighborhood. He proceeds to cause mayhem, but instead of running them out, they get stronger and their neighbors band together with them.

I love Adrienne and Mace, separately and together, and loved seeing them finally realize that best friends make the best lovers and the best HEAs. Can't wait for the stories about the other Colorado Springs Montgomerys and hopefully we'll also get the stories about Mace's sisters, who we meet and I love, as well.

Adrienne Montgomery could not believe the attraction she felt for Mace Knight but once they crossed that line from friends to lovers it was so very hot!! Adrienne had to admit that she could possible be addicted to her best friend..In the mean time, Mace learns that he is going to get his daughter now full time and this could put a wrench into this love story!!
