Easy Clean-Up
Cleaning your Stick Blender is easy! To simplify cleaning, rinse the prep bowl, cover and blade immediately after use, so that food won't dry onto them. The blending shaft, whisk head, chopper/grinder bowl and mixing cup are dishwasher safe. Everything else wipes clean with a damp cloth.
Whisk Tips
Use the whisk attachment for beating heavy cream or egg whites. It may also be used for any task that you would normally whisk by hand, like crepe batters or eggs for omelets. For best results when beating heavy cream, use a chilled bowl and chill the whisk attachment.
Reversible Blade
The Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender chopper/grinder attachment is equipped with a reversible blade. This blade is sharp on one side and blunt on the other. The blade is attached to a plastic ring which slides over the blade assembly shaft, so it can be easily turned over to select the appropriate blade.
Blending & Mixing
The specially designed blade is for mixing and stirring all kinds of foods, including salad dressings, powdered drink products, and sauces. It is ideal for combining dry ingredients, and can be used to emulsify mayonnaise, too. This blade mixes and stirs while adding only a minimum of air to your mixture. A gentle up-and-down motion is all you need to make the most flavorful, full-bodied liquid recipes. Be careful never to remove the Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender from the liquid while in operation.
Features and Benefits
Low/High Two Speed Power Button: Allows you to activate the hand blender at the touch of a button. Simply press and hold down the Low or High button to blend or pulse. Once the button is released, blending will stop.
Comfort Handle: The handle allows you to control the hand blender with ease.
Blending Attachment: This attachment easily snaps into the motor body housing. The fixed stainless blade is partially covered by a stainless housing that keeps splashing to a minimum. Press the release button on the back of the unit to detach for easy cleaning.
Whisk Attachment: The full-size Chef's Whisk attachment snaps into the motor body housing. This attachment is great for whipping up your favorite creams and toppings for waffles and desserts.
Chopper/Grinder Attachment: Chop, mince and grind hard cheese, onions, nuts, chocolate, carrots and more with the Cuisinart chopper/grinder attachment. The chopper/grinder attaches to the blender motor body in place of the blender shaft or whisk attachment.
Mixing Cup: 2-cup blending cup is microwave and dishwasher safe. Use this container to blend drinks, shakes, salad dressings and more. Designed for easy gripping and drip-free pouring.

Well I got this one and it blends smoothies in about 5 seconds. This one is more powerful, it runs great and has a safety button so you don't need to worry about any potential electric shock. I am very happy I made this upgrade. Good job!
Let me also rave about the extras. The little chopper is my new best friend. I LOVE it for mincing garlic and chopping herbs like parsley or basil. I find myself making more of my own salad dressings that are lower in fat and higher in flavor because it's just so easy to use the attachment. And everything about this product is easy to clean, even the blades. Yes, you have to be careful but it really is intuitive. I'm finding the size is also more convenient because I love to make frozen banana "ice-cream" (just blended frozen bananas and the addition of whatever you want... peanut butter, a little milk and vanilla, other frozen fruits...) but my full size food processor just sort of bats the frozen banana pieces around instead of actually blending them together. This one is just the right size for a double serving.
I've only used the whisk once to whip cream. It actually did such a good job I almost made butter, so I'll have to watch more closely next time. I want to buy this product for everybody in my family! I might do just that. Bravo!
The blade has the word "SHARP" imprinted on it. The instructions state: "Assemble the blade with this side up to use the sharp edge". There are illustrations apparently showing the blade in the "sharp" and "blunt" orientations; however, the two diagrams are actually identical, the one being rotated 180 degrees from the other. I incorrectly interpreted the diagrams as showing the blade already mounted on the spindle... a critical error. This would imply it had been flipped upside down. If you would mount the blade ring in this way, it will actually be in its "blunt" orientation.
Of course, I felt a bit embarrassed once I figured it out, but even in retrospect, the instructions are unnecessarily ambiguous. They use the words "side" and "edge" interchangeably and, therefore, ambiguously. They use the terms "blunt" and "dull" interchangeably. They should choose one or the other for consistency. They refer to the plastic mounting spindle as a "sheath". It's not abundantly clear what is meant by the "hub holding ribs (grips)". And, finally, having misinterpreted the illustration, it wasn't apparent (to me) that "up" refers solely to its operating orientation.
The most serious consequence of this is that lacking clear instructions, it is very (!) easy to cut yourself on the "razor sharp" blade edge,... a hazard I can personally attest to.
In any case, here are my instructions, modified from Cuisinart, but with my recommended terminology. (These would have worked for me. The "hub nubs" would need to be labeled on a diagram, which they are not currently.)
"To mount the cutting blade on the plastic mounting spindle, stand the spindle vertically on a flat surface in its operating orientation. Holding the blade ring CAREFULLY by the "hub nubs", slide the ring downward to the base of the spindle. For cutting with the sharp edge, the side labeled "SHARP" should face upward (toward the top of the spindle). For cutting with the blunt edge, the side labeled "SHARP" should face downward (toward the base of the spindle). Then, while holding spindle with one hand, and the hub nubs with the other hand, CAREFULLY apply a slight clockwise rotation to the blade ring to lock it into position. To remove the blade, rotate the blade ring counterclockwise, then lift to remove. WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW FINGERS TO CONTACT THE RAZOR-SHARP CUTTING EDGE. THE RISK OF INJURY IS POTENTIALLY GREATER WHEN REMOVING THE BLADE RING THAN WHEN INSTALLING IT."
I used the chopper blender to make butternut squash ravioli from scratch. I never thought I could call that recipe easy, but thanks to the blender it was so simple! I also use these for spreads, dips, aioli, hot sauce, smoothies and soup. I have an outlet by the stove, so I sautee the vegetables, throw in the stock, turn off the heat for a minute, and purée right in my soup pot with the immersion blender. And you know what else? Try it for beating eggs. You've never had a fluffier omelet.
My favorite part is that cleanup is a cinch. Unless I'm working with something sticky, I can usually just detach the lower portion, rinse it and put it in the drying rack.
These blenders have made cooking easier for me, which encourages me to cook at home and try new recipes. When you look at it that way, it's saving me time and money and allows me to eat healthier. Win win WIN.
