In each round, a new judge draws a Description Card. You’ve got to decide which card in your hand matches the Description in play, and hope the judge thinks your card is the best. And with so many cards in this version, it’ll never be the same game twice!

The family-friendly card game that’s won numerous awards, Apples to Apples creates lots of laughter and party-time joy! Apples to Apples challenges you to think on your feet, get a little silly and find out how your friends and family think. You’ll be surprised time and again!

Easy to Learn, Fun to Play

There are just two types of cards: Things and Descriptions. Each player takes turns being the judge and pulling the next Description card. The other players try to pick, from the cards in their hands, the Things they feel best match that Description -- in the eyes of the judge. So it helps to know your judges a little better, too.

Winning the Game

You have to collect a certain number of Description cards to win the game -- it depends on how many players you have (more players = less cards needed to win). And with so many cards and possibilities, it’s never, EVER the same game twice!

    Mattel Games Apples to Apples Party Box is not the same game as the original Apples to Apples. This is a great game and is fun for all ages but no where near as fun as the original Apples to Apples game. While we did have fun with family and friends (ages 8-50) we didn’t laugh and enjoy the game as much as when we played the original version. This family game is easy to learn and a good time. We love game night and look forward to it. This game comes with 441 Red Apple Cards, 63 Green Apple Cards, a card tray and game rules. This game is very small and easy to store away. Very convenient! Recommended age is 12-15 years old but any age (with guidance) can play and enjoy themselves in my opinion.

It has adult humor built in (name puns, etc) and some bathroom humor too. There are still some cards not everyone knows and require explanation (even to adults). The rules are pretty simple but I would suggest rewriting them to say "pick the answer you like the best." Be clear about it! Otherwise, it is a fun family game that can be short or can last for hours depending on how long you want to play.
