If you can dream it, you can make it come true...**

She hopes opening 'Once Upon A Book' on Ivy Lane will be the perfect tribute to her beloved grandfather who instilled a love of reading and books in her from an early age.
When her love life and friendships become even more complicated – will Libby have the courage to follow her dreams? Or has she bitten off more than she can chew?
A gorgeous new romantic comedy about taking chances and realising your dreams, perfect for fans of Holly Martin, Christie Barlow and Mhairi McFarlane.

About the author
Freya Kennedy is a pen name of Derry based author Claire Allan - who is perhaps better known for her psychological thrillers.
However, before turning a life of crime, Claire wrote eight bestselling women's fiction novels for Irish publisher Poolbeg Press, including the international hit The First Time I Said Goodbye.
Her alternate persona of Freya Kennedy sees her bring love, laughter and heart-warming happiness to readers across the world.
A true Derry girl, Freya Kennedy has lived all her life in the north of Ireland. She worked for 18 years as a journalist and has been writing full time since 2016.
She is a huge fan of all kinds of books, listing Marian Keyes (she cried the first time she met Marian), Jane Fallon, Mhairi McFarland & Lindsey Kelk among her favourite rom-com writers.
She also enjoys a good murder!
She continues to live in Derry with her husband, her two children, two cats, the best dog in the world and a demon puppy.

Grandad Ernie
These are the words which stole my heart. This is a story about all things books combined with a wholesome dose of family and relationship complications.
The novel opens with Libby about to collect the keys to a decrepit building, which she intends to turn into her dream bookshop with writer’s nooks and a cafe.
We get an in-depth look into just what it takes to bring such a dream to fruition and I don’t just mean all the electrical, carpentering, plumbing, and other work that’s required. Libby also leaves behind some relationships in the process and builds new ones. Her friendship with her best friend takes on a new perspective. She also realizes the value of familial ties and community support.
I found Libby’s dedication to her shared dream with her grandfather impressive, so much so that she’s willing to leave her boyfriend and her best friend behind. Grandad Ernie delivers some astute wisdom in the form of pithy quotes that come as flashbacks to Libby whenever she’s in a situation of some sort and needs help.
I am inclined towards all things bookish, so many of the quotes in the story and the entire process of getting the bookshop ready was most enjoyable.
Harry’s predilection towards offloading out-of-date foodstuffs on Libby made for some chuckle-inducing moments.
My only grouse is that I felt the romance angle was underdeveloped and had an abrupt end. I would have liked some more substance around the newly emerging relationship.

Romantic and funny, uplifting and full of heart.
Looking forward to the next one.
Welcome to Ivy Lane... A cute little town full of amazing characters, friendly, neighbourly and one big team. The story focuses on Libby a huge bookworm who is chasing her and her grandfathers dream to open their own bookshop. Can she do it in time? It's a huge job, starting from scratch in an old building but I believe in her and with the help of the community she can do it.
Whats better than books than reading about books and bookshops? Nothing. Absolutely loved it all. Especially Neighbour Noah the pub owner. Hot. Single. Friendly. He ticks all the boxes. An easy, fast paced, light hearted and uplifting read. Just what I needed! Perfection. A well deserved four stars from me. Highly recommend. Brilliant.
